  1. I am running an XT RD Type2, with the clutch, and find that the clutch lever is hitting the frame when I am in the big sprocket of the cassette and pushing the chain out of line! End up having to leave the clutch off and if I lengthen the chain it sags as there is not enough tension in the big gears. Anyone else finding this problem?
  2. Gonna bring your SS and join us on Sunday?
  3. Will be very interested to see what you come up with. Don't know what cutter you are using but how hard would it be to copy some Ali dropouts?
  4. Have they got them in 29" with tapered headtube?
  5. What happened to Bike & Saddle?
  6. SS spacer set that I got from On-One but it only has a 16mm, 14mm and two 2mm spacers. I can only use a 16/14/2 or the lock ring does not fit and I need to move the sprocket 2mm to the right ie. 16/2/2/sprocket/12, so the sprocket/cog is 12mm from the right.
  7. Hate the chaintugs, tensioning screws dig into the ali dropouts! Looking for a better design that has a shoe or a plate that rests against the dropout, think the Surly one will be better and has two skewer holes to give you more length for tensioning. Also need to get better spacers for the freewheelhub as the chain line is not straight, getting away with it due to the extra wide halflink chain.
  8. 'Rand Flyer' SS Rigid- Update Now finished, with it's gold chain and chrome pedals. Put her through her paces at the weekend, beautiful, well at least nothing fell off........me or the bike with the lack of suspension!!!!! Wrists took a bit of a hammering. Going up the wall in Alberts Farm, easy side, was not as bad as I thought. Glad I started with 32/18 and not 32/16 though. Need to take one more link out of the chain just to stop the little bit of chain slap.

  10. This is not the Race frame.
  11. In Rands, about R50000000K by now!!!! Otherwise GBP399, not bad for carbon. It has exchangeable dropouts so you can run SS or geared.
  12. 'Rand Flyer' SS Rigid- New baby is ready to roll! On-One Lurcher carbon frame and rigid carbon raw fork, chrome Ritchey Classic bars, stem and seatpost, Brooks saddle and retro cork grips. Waiting for the KMC gold chain. Now to strengthen my legs!!!!!
  13. Yes, Karma seems to have retired!
  14. Bring a bungee and hook on to a big wheeler!
  15. Sure can, the hill will get the heart pumping early in the ride! Are you talking about going round the outer loop or something in the middle, didn't think you jump guys would like the hill up the side of Bantam. Speed wise, everyone seems to speed up after dark! Would keep the start to 6pm, 2kms won't add much to the ride and means more ' dark time'!!!! If we do the top of Delta and then go round Emmarentia 'clockwise' the ride will be about the same distance.
  16. Oops, I counted 23 riders at the start and 23 at the tops of Alberts, funny considering I knew Haley and one other left after Emmerentia!
  17. After the success of last week, 23 riders, we better do it again! Plan to do the normal Spruit route via the top of Delta Park, up to and around Emmerentia and then on to Alberts Farm and back to Fratellis. Ride is +/- 28kms and will be a gentle, until dark of course when everyone seems to turn into speed freaks! Everyone welcome of course. 17.45 RIDE: meeting at Fratelli's, cnr Conrad & Hillcrest, Blairgowrie. Leaving 18.00 & returning around 20.00 for pizza and beer with anyone who wants to stay. Will be dark around 19.15 so bring lights. Look for me on the silver Pyga.
  18. I'll post the usual ride today, who did we loose??
  19. Finally got that photo up for you Hayley. Hope all is good with your Dad.
  20. OK, here is the group ride photo, finally, was fighting wih the internet yesterday!!! Another great ride and GREAT turn out! Was like a huge biker gang snaking through the night looking for action......be it only destroying ourselves usually!!! Amazing how we all turn into mad race snakes after dark! Would love to get some of it on video. Big up to Andydude for sweeping at the back and thanks to Bruce for the photo.
  21. Any ride is a good ride!
  22. He meant 18.00......meet at 17.45! Slightly later than last year as it gets dark so late and we get very little 'night' riding otherwise.
  23. What's the drop line?
  24. Them race snakes is dangerous, how's the broken wing?
  25. Come on Karma.......I'm keen if you're going.
