A few wins he will have but unfortunately the end is near . He will always be one of the greatest we have seen on a bike .
  3. For a commuter you simply will not find anything better than an NC . I travel 128km everyday , rain , snow and wind . Been doing it the last 12 years and 2 been on the NC . It will not rip your arm of when you pull away but it does 160 very easily . Mine gives me 31.9km now and as you may have gathered , I do a lot of 160 riding to stay ahead of the cagers on the N3 . Once you replaced the air filter with a K&N unit your service cost drops a lot , and service intervals are every 12000km . The bike also handles very well . People say it feels like the bike does not want to turn , but if you lean it you can be sure it will stay on course and you can scrape footpegs if so inclined . But it is a commuter and not a superbike , it does what it is suppose to do exceptionally well .
  4. We discuss the pro's and con's of different bikes almost daily at the Ultra City morning pit stop . Only coffee involved so it does not get to out of hand , but in general everybody agree that if you want to get a DS bike BMW would be the obvious candidate . 1 . after sales service is apparently very good 2 . Spares availability the best of any manufacturer 3 . They claim that their DS range are very capable off-road and on Even the KTM and Truimp (one) dude has to agree . The poor chap with his Truimp said he's been waiting for some spare for his bike for 2 months now . I gave up MX and weekend riding many years ago and now only commute . So I don't own a DS bike anymore and have never owned a BMW bike , one BMW car was enough to put me of the product . But even on my NC750 I have noticed that normal consumables like filters , plugs and the likes are very expensive compared to what the BMW people claim they are paying .
  5. Wasn't that the day he took that small bike down the drop at Fountains ?
  6. And while we arguing that point , anybody got any updates ?
  7. Pity about the ALT meter .
  8. Does not sound like a good idea to me . Besides the weight you also reach much higher speeds and hits potholes etc with a very heavy and large wheel .
  9. At least PPA said something !!! Where are the people that takes you license money and extorts money out of race organizers ?

And this only leaves Superbikes , but Ray will wrap it up at the next races .
  11. Thanks Andy . I am just to lazy to work on the bike but I suppose I can set a hour or two aside to get it going . The bike is in showroom condition with 140 000km on and been standing now for about 14 months . Starting to feel guilty and I want to take her out to get some fresh air again .
  12. Are you doing this because you got nothing else to do or because it's your occupation ? Asking because I am looking for somebody to fix a few things on my KLE500 .
  13. The bike will sort itself out .
  14. Will bottle the brown ale Thursday an bottled a ginger flavored stout last week . The Stout is just experimental but the few tasters I had last night is promising .
  15. After a year of brewing and cleaning my plastic home made fermenter I had to chuck it . Brew one stout in that baby and you will not get that taste out of the plastic . Maybe a better quality container would have worked . I am very happy with my stainless steel drum , it clean easy and looks bloody cool . I know there is a big hoo-haaa about the temperature while brewing , I have found that if it gets a bit cold you just brew longer . I had one brew in there for 8 weeks and it was the best brew to date . Like they say , "slow brewed . extra matured " or something like that .
  16. If you just want to brew beer to impress your friends and have cheap Craft beer then buy the Mangcrove Micro breweries starter kit . It's got all the stuff that you need to brew your first 23lt of beer . If you want to start experimenting with different hobs and start mashing and cooking stuff then the Grain Farther is what you want (expensive) . I have been brewing with my small unit now for 3 years and after about 2000lt only had one brew that did not taste to nice . You can buy almost any beer flavor out there already in a concentrate , just add water and wait . www.brewcraft.co.za in Jetpark .

Yip he did actually managed to crack a smile . Great ride by Danny . Things will have to go seriously pear-shaped for Brad to loose this title .
  18. I will start my build this weekend . Suggestions ? Was thinking Orange and green but got a few Euuuws from people . Saddle will be Troy Lee design and pedals flat . The rest I need some ideas . This will most probably not be a bike a use a lot but rather a show piece hanging in the pub .
  19. Scratched around in the part bin last night and looks like I will be able to complete the build this weekend . Will put a suspension fork on this one .
  20. Just arrived
  21. Aha you had me worried there for a minute . Still need to do a few long races on mine and don't wanna walk with a broken frame .
  22. Much better construction ?
  23. Anyways those STR frames are so awesome I am getting another one . Hope to find a green one .
  24. I suppose if you use your SS to go to the bottle store or the corner shop for a loaf then removing all those things would be fine . Bar ends will stay on my bike despite what the fashion police got to say . On my STR two water bottle cages really does not get in the way when I need to carry the bike but I suppose it depends how you carry the thing .
  25. don't think it is active anymore but you can find a few tips and contacts here : http://www.fzrarchives.com/ipb/index.php?showforum=43
