Tjoe.. y’all know we’re a long way off from Friday. People know what they ate, other people at the table also know what you ate. How do you pay less than your share? I ride with my team or with friends often, the biggest issue we’ve had in the past was people forgetting to add the % for the tip. I now remind them before we even ask for the bill.. or I ask the first to put cash down “did you add tip?” In a tone that the group can hear. we sometimes have some youngsters or guys that may not have the funds to partake in the coffee stop festivities.. for those someone will say “you pulled Lekker today, breakfast on me for your effort..” I don’t get how guys want to freeload.. don’t be k@k, be Lekker peoples..

For R200k I can buy 2 scramblers or quad bikes for me and my boys. I’ll just use more energy using my “Chevrolegs” and get some toys for the family..

So all this ebike talk made me curious.. maybe I should get one to try out.. unfortunately I love all my limbs and organs..

Great so lets say 20% are "Flying Pigs" Of the 80% how many have the technical skill and ability to match the capability of the "classic rider" they are seeded with? Keep in mind that they have a motor to aid on the inclines and >30km/h on the flats with pedal assist? Hopefully you can see where i'm going with this..

Do all ebike riders agree to this statement? How many of them do you represent? Be mindful that i can and have differentiated that there are good and bad. See my "pig" vs "flying Pig" comment.. Some may believe all are good and have the best intentions.. 😬 I'm more a realist to believe that.

Seed ebikes in an ebike category that makes it difficult for them to "Interfere" with classic riders. Either later in the day or on a different day altogether.. If it's an ebike event then Seed the classic riders later. Don't let them mix, they need to be separated.. Why an ebike rider would "race" a classic rider is beyond me..

Look I subscribe to the fact that everyone has varied needs, skill level, experience (Life + Bike). If you feel you want to partake, good on you.. Lets evangelize the sport.. Stay within the group that you're seeded in to match your skill/experience. If you're stronger than your group chase the group ahead with caution and not disturb or aggravate you current group that you've been slip streaming. But let's respect each other.. The "Flying Pigs" are problematic.. We do get some reckless "Classic Riders" but they only strong for so long and when they are fatigued they become more understanding of other and fall in line to the back or middle of the group, sometimes falling to the next group back. Add a motor to these guys and they are reckless for longer especially the inclines..

... I used to be a pro cyclist in the past with >500w on tap from my naturally aspirated Chevrolegs.. But this 750w ebike will let you KOM with minimal effort and sweat.. Would you like a Flavoured Latte while you make your decision? hahaha

Firstly.. Learn how to Multi Quote or are you too old? Maybe you took a blue pill instead of a chill pill this am.. Seems you have a hard on for ebikes.. have a read here..

Perhaps have a slightly different route where it's too steep for a normal rider so they can put their ebikes to the test (deviate around a single track area where bottlenecks are expected). this will also be a variance in route profile and distance so at the end of the race you'll see who on ebikes didn't follow the rules and DQ them and also. Charge the ebike guys more to manage the additional marshal/resource costs.

@BaGearA Not yet.. 🙄 This is not a personal attack on anyone.. Remember "With great power comes great responsibility" In the last 5 Road races I've done the ebike guys are "not mindfull" and add additional risk by zooming very close past you on uphills (one hit my handlebar, with no apology) only for me to pass them on the downhill and longish flats due to their ebike motor restrictions. I gave the guy a propper chirp, he was younger than me and very able bodied.. But in an altercation ebike vs non motorized who'll be more at fault? pedestrian vs bicycle bicycle vs motorbike motorbike vs car car vs truck/bike My thinking is around other reports/threads where ebikes go rogue and in the most recent it was a ladies bike that went bos. Then you have the unfit/unskilled people riding ebikes in an event where above average skill is required.

And if you get hurt because someone couldn't control their ebike?
