  1. This year is a complete write off for me. Tomorrow may well be my first commute back since March, if I can only build up the courage to go back in to office. Bleh...
  2. Yep. There are 13 participants in the Pool already. Let's make it a blast, there are prizes to be won too. Admin, perhaps a dedicated thread?
  3. In case anyone missed it :-) Join me in the league now no.12520 : BIKE HUB FANTASY TOUR By clicking on this link : https://fantasy.letour.fr/#welcome/register/?parrain=ywedia5&ligue=12520
  4. I'm trying out the official fantasy tour by Tissot this year.... I created a Bike Hub league for those interested. Riders will be available for selection on the 24th of August. https://fantasy.letour.fr/#welcome/register/?parrain=ywedia5&ligue=12520
  5. My stance is that irrespective of the number of tests done and the true number of positive cases for SA, at the end of the day, the only things that matter are, the number of cases requiring intensive care, and the number of deaths, both of which has not presented itself in the volumes expected and which is not impacted by the amount of tests done since these stats will surface irrespective. The current reality is probably too good to be true but all previous predictions have been dismissed. I'm staying positive and believe that something unique is happening in SA but we haven't figured it out yet or it simply cannot be explained.
  6. Made it onto the podium using lockdown and grocery stops to my advantage. Sad part is I will most likely continue to work from home for a few months after lockdown. Eish
  7. I cycle to the shop all the time to get groceries. I'm an all weather commuter, so it's very difficult for me to take the car when I can take the bike. I can get about 10kg worth of groceries into my backpack, depending on which items I buy. Managed an everage HR of 186 the other day, over 35min.
  8. Finish would be at the Parade as well
  9. From what I gathered it sounded like same day. There was mention that one of the reasons for not considering the short route was the amount of additional logistics and available officials required with not enough notice given to the authorities to plan for this etc. I honestly cannot see how this is such a big issue? Also, if held on Saturday it would clash with the expo which in itself is an event that requires logistics and staffing etc...
  10. I just heard that they going to give the short route option another go for 2021. The authorities who turned down the request previously are now willing to look at the logistics again and reconsider. Basically an out and back on the Blue Route.
  11. Can't argue with this, but you can an always record manually on strava app or do a manual route entry on Endo... This happened to me last week and so I recorded via strava app then realised afterwards that endo connects via Garmin app, so just entered mileage manually in Endo
  12. This is true. Also less chance of being blown off your bike, or worse, into traffic.
  13. Slowly creeping my way into contention. I hope these new guys to the party are all fair weather commuters....
  14. Hehehe. Well honestly though, Jan has started slow for me. I'll upload all my rides and see where I'm at. No more silent assassin this year lol
  15. 90% of my training is commutes. So if I'm not able to ride on a weekend, my training doesn't really suffer. But I live in the south, so very easy to add structure, distance and hills to my commutes, both morning and afternoon.
  16. I only got back Wednesday this week, so 3 days in the bag thus far. Nothing to worry about here.
  17. That's what they say, but it will definitely be used for this year's CTCT as well.
  18. Stay at home
  19. Probably waiting for the late entries to be concluded by EOB today so that they only have to run the query once. That's my guess anyways... Maybe later tonight or tomorrow it should reflect.
  20. Finished the year on 8 889,9 Km. Good enough for 2nd place. Total for the year including training and racing about 12 600km, so commuting was by far my most significant mileage. Well done to all. May 2020 bring even more mileage. I will only start adding to my 2020 tally as of late January, aiming for 10 000km this time round ????
  21. Speaks out on Speculation, then proceeds to Speculate... ????
  22. Sit weer die pot mis lol. Yoh
