  1. nah, my 22inch wide mower is on the big side for my lawn already. Plus, next to cycling its the only exercise I get.
  2. 20+ years ago, training on the streets around Frosty's 'hood, we would celebrate when we achieved average speeds in the low 20's, 30+ averages were only seen in the likes of the Hyper to Hyper ultra flat big bunch races. Now i'm doing Zone 1 70km rides in the high 20s.
  3. I used to when i had a full weekend to myself and had money to spend to keep the lawn looking good. Had the best lawn in the 'hood. The cylinder mower though does make it that much more bearable.
  4. takes 2 hours to cut. That edges and lawn.
  5. actually Edinbourgh (sp?) drive is also congested that far back, but if you're going for a 3:30 you should be able to just about squeeze past on the far right, almost in the gutter.
  6. to many golfers on bicycles these days
  7. Full gas effort on my normal morning route. Garmin wants me to recover for 52 hours. Hit a pothole early on after a failed attempt to bunny hop it and my saddle bag came off, so I had to stop and retrieve that too.
  8. not full road closure, unfortunately. Which means there are certain parts that get a bit sketchy with cars and trucks. Let me see if I have a GPX, havent done it in a few years so the route may have changed slightly
  9. I'll see how much budget is left when I get back from CTCT. Always a nice flat fast one this race and it starts around the corner from home.
  10. still is
  11. That last point obviously helped me too.
  12. Thats what worries me, you'll embarrass me with your little kiddies bike
  13. That race still accounts for some of my fastest records. Fastest 100km. Fastest speed on a bike. Even as a weekend warrior our first half average would sit at low to mid 40s. If only I was fit enough to not blow at around the 60km mark each year I'd have even better times. Another thing that race also had was heat. I remember one year meeting the family at a near by PnP after the race and my cleats were sinking into the tar it was so hot. Also the race where I met my wife.
  14. The old Hyper to Hyper Fast one up here used to be like that. 50 - 100 guys in a group cruising at 40km/h and up. Still my best time for a 100km event at 2h47, only 15minutes shy of the winning time that day. But I'm older now and there is no way I can wheelsuck at those speeds in big groups like that anymore. Add to the fact that the roads were not in the best shape then either.
  15. thanks. but thats what she has already.
  16. a trigger shift or a grip shift ? because the bike has what I call a grip shift, aka revoshift, at the moment.
  17. its because they dont know its an e-bike until its to late
  18. So I managed to make it better. One of the "fixes" on the net was to move the shifter slightly away from the grip which I did. I also sprayed some Q20 where the cable runs under the BB. I then played with the cable tension whilst playing with the indexing. A short test ride around the neighborhood and she was able to change up and down through the cassette. It was still a little tight but alot better than before, she could actually change gears now.
  19. I'm a lean mean sweat producing machine My genetic line sweat alot, it has been passed down to me. I also find the fitter I get the quicker I start sweating. Like the slightest bit of physical effort and the body goes "turn on the taps guys, he is going to overheat" . Strangely enough its mainly through the head. I cant wear a hat when I work in the garden, it get drenched to quickly.
  20. second time my face swelled up during the night, landed up in the emergency room the next morning. Never been allergic to bees before
  21. 2021 was a good day by all accounts. I need a great day
  22. guilty. (although I didnt even try)
  23. spreadsheet wont allow edits actual time was 3:41
  24. I've been stung by bees on the face twice whilst riding, I'm not taking chances of having something hit me in the eye
