  1. Pinning to the shirt.
  2. I haven’t been able to find them for a while. Been looking (kind of). You used to see them at till points at bike shops, now even if you ask for them they don’t have.
  3. Nothing more left to do, just a nutritious supper and good nights sleep. good luck to all. b.t.w. How does everyone pin their race numbers to their expensive jerseys, I noticed some nasty little holes in my ciovita jersey just now.
  4. Because I cycle it brought me here. Didn’t cycle here from joburg though.
  5. I discovered cracks in my helmet yesterday, so I’ll be trying some on, if they are similar priced to online I’ll get one.
  6. whats the reason for the cancelation ?
  7. much easier to make that decision if you live down there, but if you've treked 1500km to get there then there is only 2 choices, ride hard or ride easy
  8. thats for sure but, at the end of the day, as long as they dont cancel, we ride. Goal times and strategies will just be changed on the day.
  9. Prediction changes over the last few days friday monday tuesday wednesday
  10. I recall predictions like this in the past, and then on race day its a glorious near perfect day only for the clouds to roll over and start raining in the afternoon early evening.
  11. Windy has the rain coming only in the late after noon on Sunday, Epic Ride weather says we will ride in the wet.
  12. yeah its the socks that are the problem more than the shoes. Look once I've gotten my head around the fact that I'm going to be wet then I'm fine, I just ride and enjoy it, but having some better gear to keep a little drier makes it that bit more comfortable.
  13. With CTCT still looking to be a wet race I'm thinking maybe its time to buy, at the minimum, something for the top part of my body for wet weather riding. As its not something I will use often, and the budget is pretty much zero, what recommendations for something cheap but decent enough that I can go out and buy today. Obviously the cheapest option is a garbage bag, followed by a non cycling rain coat I already have, but something more cycling/sport specific would be preferable.
  14. will the garmin HR strap module (dont know what to call that piece of electronics that clips onto the strap) work with these decathlon straps ?
  15. have used him a number of times. can not fault his service at all.
  16. the microchip is working well with you it seems
  17. My mom used to always have a slight limp, never concerned her until she got older and it started to cause pain, so she had it checked out. She always just thought her legs were unusually mismatched, turns out the reason they were mismatched in length was because at some point in her childhood years her one hip was dislocated and eventually created its own socket on her pelvis. Now having been born and living in rural greece until her teenage years she doesnt know if she was born that way, or it happened after being born, but she does not recall ever dislocating her hip.
  18. Looks like I will be packing cool weather kit,
  19. Saw one of these on friday at BMW when I dropped my dad off to pick his car up from a service. Looks so strange, all this old school styling and then a big LCD screen
  20. Eish. The other common one is forgetting to put the sump plug back in and then trying to fill with oil.
  21. it certainly looked like it this side of the world.
  22. The correct answer is The August is always the second week of March, unless there is a pandemic and then the August is in October, but the August is never in August.
  23. A recent thread on here about slipping gears pointed out that some chain quicklinks are directional. I'm on my second SRAM PC1110 chain, but this one seemed noisier than the first, I put it down to the cassette or chainrings having a fair bit of mileage on them. Yesterday I was prepping the bike for the World Champs in Cape Town next week, whilst it was up on the workstand I thought I should check the quicklink. Well would you believe it has a little arrow on it and it was facing the wrong direction. Only did a short slow ride with the kids yesterday after I worked on it, seemed to be quieter, but will do a ride later in the week to make sure.
  24. As long as they dont become like some site where video ads automatically start playing then I'm ok with putting up with the ads.
  25. Jo'burg is not for sissies
