  1. Anything is possible. But since it was not my microwave in my house I am not able to re-test.
  2. all those cyclist pee'ing "supplements" into the ocean
  3. I cant do any cereals with cold milk, has to be warm. Oh and futurlife is a big no no. have tried it on multiple occasions and just not stand this stuff.
  4. Well conditioned is relative. you are on another level. I am the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been for the 20+ years of riding I’ve done, yet to do a 3:40 took max effort for me, guys like Savage come along and do 3;40 on their cool down lap, and then crazy blokes come along and do those times on frakensteined kiddies bikes.
  5. That was quick.
  6. I also came close to skipping breakfast on Sunday when the milk came out of the microwave ice cold, not once but twice. not the best time to find out the microwave makes all the right noises but does not have nuclear power. but I did discover you can make pronutro with hot water.
  7. a) its an Isuzu, they are generally more chilled drivers b) you stay in the middle of nowhere, 3 meter must seem awefully close c) you're a cyclist
  8. Just a few cell phone pics from my weekend trip
  9. Racetec seeding after sunday has given me a HUGE jump in seeding. I went from a 64.9 to a 46.3
  10. you just described me
  11. After driving a white double cab from work for a week I understand the mindset of the drivers. I'd also want to mow down everything in sight if i had to drive one of those things as my only vehicle.
  12. and dont forget the white double cabs.
  13. After draining every penny this year I'll need to start scraping together from now. I will enter. I will not miss it.
  14. damn dude your mom be kicking my butt. But that where I want to be, old toppie riding these "races" and kicking butt Well done to your mom
  15. everybody has to start somewhere. And you'd be very surprised how much fitness you lose over time when not training. Keep it up and in no time that 20km ride will feel like a gentle warm up
  16. still have not used it. It went with me to cape town and back. Going down it did not seem to leak, coming back it leaked. fortunately I had it in a plastic bag, not sure if it go squashed in the luggage or it was the air pressure or what, but most of the lube has leaked out into the bag.
  17. after having to pop a tube in on saturday night I was slightly concerned that should the rear pick up a puncture I'd have nothing to fix it with. I was putting my faith in the Pirellis and the fact that the previous set did not puncture once. a few of the particularly rough patches of tar had me looking down to make sure the wheel was not flat.
  18. there was a guy giving everyone a sealant shower on the rollers before smitswinkel, he eventually pulled over when it didn't seal. somehow I managed to not getting any on me.
  19. And just past the circle is the optometrist I've been using since I was in school. We used to ride our bikes on the veld where the shopping centre is now, later on when they were building the centre we used the construction site as a bmx track.
  20. they kept telling me in cape town "you musnt push"
  21. I enjoyed having to dodge less people going up the early hills, I enjoyed not having to keep out of the way for so many people on the later hills. I missed the big sound systems and cheerleaders at the many water points, but I still got to hear "Eye of the Tiger" many many times Did not miss the crowds at the end, although for once I was not it a hurry to get out of there so would have been nice to grab a burger whilst I waited for some mates to finish. Overall I think the organisers can pat themselves on the back for a job well done.
  22. This is the kind of spirit that keeps bring me back to CTCT. It sort of got less over the years, but certainly in the early 2000s, whenever you stopped for a cramp or a breather or anything, there would be people around you very quickly wanting to assist / encourage just generally help. I remember my first couple of "Argus", going up Suikers there would be crowds of people only to willing to help push you up should you stop. You don't get that at any of the joburg races
  23. This pretty much summarises sunday for me. Only place I went faster previously was that stretch from Scarborough through to misty cliffs the one year we had a hectic tail wind and yes you can laugh at my slow times at Suikers and Edinburg
  24. my helmet did not fit into my carry on luggage, so I had it hooked to the straps. every second person was asking me if I came down to cape for the august.
  25. I tried to catch a tow behind a tandem up a small incline at one stage but they just pulled away from me, then I see the motor on the rear wheel. Granted they would have pulled away regardless, but I was hoping for it to be slower.
