  1. I started doing low intensity IDT rides on the 11th day from symptoms. But HR would rise quickly with shortness of breath. About 2 weeks after that I hit the road, pushing intensity up would have my chest feeling tightish. Its not 2 1/2 months since first symptoms and I'm only just starting to feel like getting some fitness back
  2. that too, my first test was a rapid test that gave a false positive, followed immediately by a lab test that confirmed negative
  3. The thing is, according to the doc that just did some surgery on my daughter, if you've had Covid and test again in a six month window after getting it, the chances of testing positive still are very high. Where does that leave those of us that have had it recently ?
  4. its only aero if its aero socks, otherwise to long and you just look like a dork.
  5. love it
  6. at what length does the unending sock become a stocking ?
  7. unfortunately wont be an option for me, well not around the peninsula anyway, but I'll string together a similar distance ride this side if its cancelled. (actually I've always wanted to do a 100 mile ride, maybe I'll map a route out for that)
  8. its not up to the organisers. they are at the mercy of the authorities. I'm sure they want this race to go ahead more than you or I do.
  9. thank goodness I booked at a good spot
  10. I've been trying to look at the alternatives. Best i can think of is if I can move the flights and bike transport to another time. A rather bad year in sales has left no budget for this, which is why I booked the plane tickets when I did, I didnt want to pay the higher price closer to the time. It also means I'd rather not spend the money for the weekend down there just because, even though I really really need to get away. Edit: Dont get me wrong, I fully understand if it gets cancelled, just really really hoping it doesnt.
  11. but is it for the better. Sure we live longer and many things are supposed to be making our lives easier, but we're also stuffing things up catastrophically. So surely if we remained swimming in the sea with a life expectancy of 5 years everything would be better ? Makes for a hell of a philosophical conversation.
  12. I see from their social media posts yesterday that its still up in the air if the event goes ahead or not. Its going to hurt me if they cancel, my flights are non refundable.
  13. because sweaty feet also never realised how much my hands sweat until one cold morning I decided to wear a pair of Nitral gloves under my normal longer finger gloves.
  14. question why longer socks ?
  15. correct, and BMW are very strict on these things
  16. for the first time in my life I actually asked for socks for my birthday this year. I needed new socks for work and the family never knows what to buy me. guess what, I landed up having to buy my own socks. being old sux
  17. the bold bit might explain the low cost you quoted for the towbar, normally there is a towbar module that needs to be plugged in so that the car knows to adjust safety features, what to expect the current to the lights to do, some even go as far as knowing how much weight is on the towhitch etc. 13k is pretty cheap for a towbar install on a modern car.
  18. you do realise that once everyone migrates to flying cars the traffic jams will just be in the air instead of on the ground. Seeing the way the average SAFA drives, I dont want to be in the air with them driving.
  19. how modern is your 3 series ? Modern cars require that the towbar be integrated into the electronics, its not just a case of bolting on a slab of steel and splicing some wires anymore.
  20. well yes, the wings are used for different things in aerospace and cars, the one wants to keep their stuff on the ground the other wants to keep their stuff off the ground
  21. and any of the above when shopping for cars. I've seen them all.
  22. people outside of cycling have no real understanding of costs. when you start telling them how much things costs their eyes bulge out of their heads. Tell them an entry level bike costs 15-20k and the top stuff is over 200k and they think you're making this up.
  23. its not you they are after, its that vibrating device between your legs
  24. like the green digital clock they put in all their cars for many years
