  1. 92kph, 19mm tyres, steel frame, plenty plenty youthful ignorance. Ok just watched the clip He has huge brass ones.
  2. Went with large after chatting to them about sizing
  3. I’m not saying it’s the shoes, but I’ve worn them only twice, yesterday I knocked 2 seconds of my PB up a climb and today I took another 4 seconds off of that.
  4. I dont have an issue with tight, but this is a little too tight, to the point I feel it may start to tear the fabric/stitching
  5. The LED on my charger turns on the moment it is plugged in. I used the gun last night on my legs, works well enough. It does make a bit of noise though so using it whilst watching TV does disturb others. As a supplementary device to the foam rolling it will do exactly what I wanted to.
  6. crazy isnt it.
  7. That and around the shoulders
  8. And they’re to small Will have to contact Max and see what the process is to exchange.
  9. something could be made up that could go on the exhaust temporarily, as in only when you use the rack. or something that attaches to the bike rack that redirects the exhaust when the rack is on.
  10. I dont know so much, I was much more chilled 10 years ago. But I guess work and life stress also play an important roll
  11. Damn that was quick. Ordered on Wednesday, bibs have just arrived. Quick inspection and they look pretty decent. I'm tempted to use them on the commute home this evening, but its probably better to give them a rinse and use them for my longer ride on sunday
  12. I'm still of the opinion that it will work well and do what it is supposed to, I'll report back over the weekend on how it works
  13. and there is nothing wrong with that, dont let society pressure you into doing something you dont want to
  14. yeah they dont seem like the best quality. Did you charge it ? The manual states if you plug it in the led will light up when charging and go out when fully charged. So I played with it for a few seconds at the office, then stuck the charger in and it did not light up, so assumed fully charged. Last night I used it for a for minutes on my legs, then it just went dead. Plugged it in and no led. Left it plugged in for an hour or so and went to check on it, it seemed to have gotten some charge. Will give it a proper go tonight.
  15. did you enjoy watching the Lamas from that view in your second pic?
  16. So my massage gun from onedayonly has just arrived. Busy charging it up, will give it a go tonight. First impressions is that its much much less impact on the body than foam rolling.
  17. we need a build thread for the backyard crash pit too please
  18. in my head I'm imagining an early 90's PC driving SIM where at certain points in the game the car infront flickers from angled left to angled right and back again quickly.
  19. Its taken me 10 hard years to get to a position where I could buy some wants for my cycling rather than needs. Going from a position where you can easily afford to buy something on a whim to a position where you prioritize which bills you will be paying that month and which you wont is heart braking.
  20. But occasionally you make the wrong life choices or get a tough break and all of a sudden you go from middle middle class to lower struggling middle class and take what ever job you can find. Thats life, you do what you can to keep going and keep giving the kids the best you can, even if that means sacrificing your own "wants".
  21. oh boy, I'm going to have to put my Giant on diet. I just weighed his Bianchi, 8.6kg.
  22. probably along the lines of some of the other "events" that have recently been held. Pay us R300, ride the 94.7 km where ever you want but on the right day.
  23. Right, I popped off a message to them from their site this morning, fully expecting the normal SA thing, i.e. no response. But within an hour they responded, a couple of questions up and down and the verdict is I need a large. I'd be able to squeeze into a medium they say but better to rather take large. So I'll be ordering a bib off their site soon.
  24. Have to laugh, I bought a luggage scale the other day as a way to weigh my bikes. Its cheap, but it does the job. I've left it here at the office, I weighed my bike in commuter trim, i.e. lights, garmin, saddle bag, sealant etc. and it came in at 9.6kg (yes very much on the heavy end of the scale for a modern road bike). Today I wondered into the workshop with my scale and asked the technician there that cycles to work if we can weigh his bike. He left the normal bike at home (an old Bianchi) and is on his sons Ralleigh, I weigh that, 9.9kg. Granted my bike is a disc bike, one size bigger frame and I had all my lights etc. on it, but I fully expected his bike to be mid 10's. Is it worth the extra ? Well from my old Scott to the new Giant there is a world of difference to everything from how the bike rolls to comfort to how it feels when you put the power down.
  25. just chatted to a technician in the workshop who is also a cyclist, he is hesitant to use the pneumatic drill, but he has good quality hex sockets so we are going to try that first.
