  1. When I started doing club rides I killed myself to try and keep up with the guys, remember when I use to get home after a ride and just go to sleep coz I was exhausted. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Then slowly I started to be able to ride somewhere in the middle. and now the coolest thing is waiting for the guys on the top of the hills. so just cycle cycle cycle. 2. how much do you want to bet that if you hang one of these bikes here in SA it is not going to be there the next day<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  3. You can ride there I hate it lots of grass on the track so on a HT it kills your body. Our club goes there every once and a while I skip those club rides.

    why ride

I ride MTB because it is fun, It is the closest I wil ever get to feeling like a kid again, because I can have a bad day and go on my bike and really forget of all my problems, no time to think of your problems when you are hitting a trail hard. I ride because when I feel down on myself or insecure doing a ride actually makes me feel good about myself again. I ride for the great friends I have made on my rides. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I ride to spend time with my husband and to spend time by myself. I ride because even when I am not in the mood once I am on my bike I love it and am glad I decided to go for a ride. I ride to keep fit an healthy. I rid for the sense of accomplishment I get when I feel I cant go any more and I push myself to get to the top of that hill. I ride because I love it, I want to go riding now.

  7. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I want to start this thread because I do not think we know of all the Hijacking that happens so if you or one of your friends that is not on the Hub was hijacked please let us know Where and When It happened and how many attackers were involved and if they were armed. I personally know of 3 hijacking that were never mentioned on the hub and I think we can better protect ourselves if we know what is going on and maybe start to better identify danger areas so please be specific as to where you were hijacked
  8. Hi Wannabe I don't think CM was stirring I think he gave his honest opinion tires is a very personal thing and what work for one does not work for another depends largely on you riding style. I have ridden with R100 tires and found them very nice and then splurged on R600 tires and found them so so until my riding improved and then they were awesome.
  9. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=82123 I would say this bike is a very good deal if you ride a 17.5" frame. You will not get a new bike for even close to the same spec if I was buying my fist bike and was looking new or second hand around R5000 the Scott woud be mine.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  10. Received my letter on the 28Feb, still no license so letter is no longer valid and it does not look like I am getting the license any time soon
  11. Do the MTBers from Mupumalanga not have internet or do I smell funny?
  12. Guess I am on my own then?
  13. Anyone form Sabie Witrivier Nelspruit, would love to do a ride in Mankele but just not alone?
  14. My husband is doing the Panorama tour and I was hoping to do some MTB riding in that area while I am their, but a bit scared to ride on my own is their any group rides in that area on weekends I can join or is their any hubbers close by who would like to show me all the good trails in the area.
  15. Am I missing something, how is giving some previously disadvantage kid a bike developing cycling, I don?t believe that is doing dilly squat. What would be the incentive for those kids to become cyclist = I don?t know maybe seeing on SABC you can get R150 000 for winning the Argus. Giving better prize money wil also contribute greatly to the development of cycling, that is how it works in all other sports. Guess they are developing tomorrow stars with a bike form Makro that is not developing cycling that is developing transport.
  16. Thy say the Argus gave almost R5.8m to charity but do a search nothing, no mention on their website of any charities benefitting form the event. Who is this charities they are giving to, last year R5m was generated for charity but through foundations and individuals I cant find proof of the organizers actually giving any money to charity. But I could be wrong.
  17. Agree 100% why do you think the two DCM Chrome rides did the solo breaks, I don?t think it was because they believed they were going to win the Argus on a solo break half way into the race. Thy were advertising their sponsor and it worked. Got TV time for their sponsor even though their were never going to win the race. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The prize money is a disgrace, and I am sure this is not the first year the riders have complained over the small prize money, if they don?t do it publicly there is actually no incentive for the organizers to increase the prize money so I say you go Malcolm Lange, don?t keep quiet, do it publicly, he should have actually done it in his interview on SABC that would have maybe upset his sponsors, but that would have gotten results.
  18. Hi my advice : not to fix the bike right away, give the injuries time to heal physical and mental, and then fix the bike and suggest to you wife you go ride a couple of time together before you sell it as once it is sold you would miss the time spent together riding. Take it very slow, like you rode when you and she just started riding and then if she stil wants to sell. Sell the bike. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> But right now do not push the issue. And shame man I also fell on my face once had a huge rostie on my left side of my face it took ages to heal and I was extremely worried about scaring, and I decided that day to leave the gloves at home as it was extremely hot the last time I do something that stupid still have the scars to remind me to wear my gloves. But my accident happened on jeep track at around 20km/ph so was not that bad.
  19. Sorry to hear about your marriage problems but you are posting on the wrong forum. Your hubbys wondering eye has got nothing to do with the hub, My husband has posted and looked at the girls on girls with bicycle thread and I have never had a problem with it. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I trust him, but when we got married he did not stop being a man and I did not stop being a woman I find loads of other men attractive but I only love my husband and he only loves me. But we are both secure people, secure on our own and secure in our marriage. You should not look at the Hub as the problem but rather ask yourself why you are so insecure.
