  1. What will you be doing for a BB, pressfit or fitting a threaded sleeve?
  2. That looks like a BMC. Not sure if its a real one though, there are fakes to be had on eBay.
  3. I wasn't dissing you, or the power of your wallet. Just my general perception of the hub lately. I met Alex once, bought some wheels from him in a private deal a few years ago. He seemed like a nice guy and used to be quite active on here under the name "the russian", or something along those lines.
  4. I believe Alex is the owner of the shop. I also think that the hub is a very small minority in the cycling community, and we're not as special as we think we are. In, fact the hub seems to be more of a joke in the cycling community than anything to be taken seriously, so we can jump up and down and make idle threats, but no one really cares.
  5. Haven't seen premium rush yet. QuickSilver is also one of my favourites. For anyone who thinks fixies are a new fad, they should watch this movie, made in 1986.
  6. I had one too, luminous pink and black. Was a locally made bike with an Italian sounding name.
  7. You're not at all wrong, but the guy behind the brand is still the same. The guy you saw may have been Francois Du Toit. He used to be the Pinarello importer, so I guess he feels if Pinarello can offshore their frames to China, then why cant he do the same. LOL, just noticed, his frame is a Chinarello, maybe its an FU to Pinarello for taking the agency away from him.
  8. Not yet ;-)
  9. Not to worry, its French, so anything goes.
  10. Wow!
  11. He also lost his business because he had the balls to speak his mind. That's quite a big price to pay for sticking to your morals.
  12. Along with Hinault it was the fastest time on the day. Neither was Lance a pure climber at 75 kg's and I didn't mention Big Mig's time of 39:28.
  13. This isn't exactly "proof", but it gives an indication of how ridiculous doping was in the 90's: Times up Alpe d'Huez: Marco Pantani 1997 37:35 Lance Armstrong 2004 37:36 Greg Lemond 1986 48:00 If Greg was juicing then he was seriously pathetic.
  14. Screw that, he's been lying to us for 15+ years, now its payback time. He needs to grovel for forgiveness if he wants anything to change.
  15. Francois has gone the Chinese import route and isn't making frames anymore. Duncan no longer works for him and is working for Marks Bicycle Workshop in Belville. If you want a really interesting chat go speak to Duncan, he knows everything there is to know about the frame building business in SA and is a true legend of the industry. And no, he's not remotely interested in building/repairing frames, that ship has sailed.
  16. What a fantastic job. I'll be giving Jared a call this week for a new spray job.
  17. But they'll be on USN, so surely they could.
  18. Dammit! Really sorry to read that. I hope you came off better than your bike.
  19. I buy games for my son from there. Their prices and range are mostly better than any of the major stores and I cant complain about their service.
  20. And who's bikes were they, you mentioned the belonged to an SA racer?
  21. Not sure nerd. I know they are not Alan's, are they Vitus maybe?
  22. You must be really unlucky. I have over 50 seperate orders on ebay and about 10 from crc and have never lost a single item.
  23. National cycles imports them, the former Eddy Merckx dealers.
  24. Well, because a 650b isnt actually 27.5 inches, but then neither is a 29er 29 inches.
  25. Problem in Australia is that up till now there is absolutely no tax or import duty on online goods purchased for under $1000. This isn't exactly CRC's fault, they are just a business selling their stuff. Its changing though, and the Aussie government has plans in place to start taxing all imports. It might be a bit late, Amazon has already killed most of the large Aussie book stores and all the jobs that go along with it.
