TCR by far. I have a 2011 TCR Adv SL with the ISP, and it is a superb bike, light - without even trying too hard (6.8kg), and rides like a dream. The lesser TCR will just be a trad heavier due to the seatpost.

An interesting bet on the coming RWC...will we make the semi's....

He didn't ride the Cx races in the US in the previous Cx season - and still won the Cx WC. So he can forego them again. So to do the XCO in MSA in early Sept and the RR on the 29th seems doable for a guy of his talents. He already qualified for Tokyo, so the test event is exactly that - a tester.

Your best and safest bet would be to head towards Hazyview, and then turn south towards Whiteriver on the R537. Nice climb towards Spitzkop. The others options will certainly be less safe and the road condition of the Hazyview road was quite bad a while ago. Longtom is a stunning ride, but the road very narrow.
