  1. In Prince Albert you are spoilt for choice, but the Hotel is a great option.
  2. My track Le Jeune (circa '87) he built for me.
  3. Had the privilege to own this beaut - picture quality not that great 😞 Will miss one of the true LEGENDS of cycling. RIP Francois
  4. Numbers are probably down to the time the event started here (early 2000's??), so makes sense. Much better for me. Closer to home!!!
  5. Yebo, on the Giro Channel 😍
  6. I see an early converter.....
  7. Love the fighting spirit!!!
  8. We've done it on HT's the past 2 editions. And we are on the wrong side of 50 I think there were about 4 of us. Those cattle trails are a bit much at the end of the stages, but this year we will opt for 2.4 tyres and lower pressures and we will be good to go. Same bikes....
  9. That is what they do to make life difficult. Giving you more hoops to jump through so that you end up not claiming.
  10. Good question!! This was certainly on my mind, but my Cyclesure excess was quite low, so I forgot to pursue during the Q4 corporate madness. But the excess was not volunteered by Cyclesure.
  11. I was knocked off the bike by a reckless driver last year that was insured by NAKED. Plenty damage to the bike and plenty injuries. I tried to claim as the 3rd party and was immediately swamped by incompetence or legalese or a combo of the two. Extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. They do everything in their power not to process a claim, by asking for the most impossible information. After a month I gave up and registered the claim via Cyclesure that is also underwritten by Hollard and the claim was sorted in a jiffy. Asked Cyclesure to get the money back from the driver via their legal means
  12. Hi Hubbers My Garmin XC pedal (non power side) needs some TLC, new seals, perhaps a new bearing. Which LBS has the expertise to do so? I'm on the East Rand, JHB.
  13. Thanks SR!! Will be on the MTB. Google shows a really nice gravel shoulder on the roads towards Tzaneen and Mica. Will give it a go!! Only in the area until the 19th, but appreciate the invite!!! Be safe and enjoy!!
  14. Hi fellow Hubbers I will be in the area for the 1st time during Dec holidays. Any watchouts, areas/roads not to ride on? Thanks!!!
  15. 18's "normal spec" is on special 🙂
  16. Hope the 2 ply Quilts is your thing. Go buy plenty!!! Best in the market, even vs 3-ply Yes, I have a vested interest 🙂
  17. You mean ex-wife..
  18. Overdraft?
  19. Agree that Slabberts area has awesome circular routes (of about 40km if I recall correctly) to keep you busy all day. Nice rollers and very quiet roads!!
  20. Very, very true, but at least go through and do a (short) pull. 100% wheelsucking, nearly 100% of the time does not win him any admiration.
  21. slight edit... otherwise you will get moered...
