  1. I will call the organisers and let u know!
  2. SAD, I was hoping for some continued nailbiting racing for the rest of the week
  3. Pity that Kevin and co are way off the pace
  4. HUUUUGE respect. Did CPT in 2012 with lots of rain and mud, and hated every minute!! Hang in there!!
  5. 2013 race: St 1: 800m ascent for 41km St 2: 915m " 46km St 3: 835m " 62km 2012 race: St 1: 590m ascent for 41km St 2: 815m " 57km St 3: 835m " 52km
  6. Unless the wind is howling, I cannot see AL not doing a sub 3.
  7. You call that marketing......
  8. Being Secunda, this will be very flat, and fast!!
  9. See the race was quite small last year. Groups AL, BL around 50 riders each?
  10. Also entered. Looking fwd to race in that area again!
  11. RL, are you serious about this? The difference between light and heavy shoes are probably 200g???? That is 200 ml of water!! BTW I ride spez shoes, middle of the range and they last - for special races like CPT and the Epic.
  12. Thx Guys!
  13. The route is not that clear on the flyer on the web. Can someone provide some detail. Hopefully we are going up Hekpoort?
  14. 1000% Rode the Radio Pretoria race last weekend, and it was only the 40+ riders in the group that understood all the mentioned "rules". The rest had no clue and was not teachable!
  15. Rode in AL, and we caught the elite girls after 50km after not really trying. I was expecting them to put the hammer down in the Heidelberg area and return the favour, but never saw them again. See that their winning time was ± 3:17!! Wow, really slow, racing must have been REALLY negative. What happened with them rding in the VC bunch to improve the quality of the riding?
  16. It was a replay of Serengeti 2 weeks ago. One a few guys making a race of it. The rest sucked wheel till 1 km to go. It would have been good if Pieter Avenant could stay away!!
  17. No having a go at them at all!!! Tried to paint the stark contrast between them and the leading AL guys.
  18. Was in AL, negative racing from the word go, only a few wanting to race. And then stupid fall just after Carnial, when all the wheelsuckers started to wind things up. Missed it by a split second. AND THEN The merge with the 62 km crowd on their Pick n Pay bikes, that was a really great idea. Oh ja, and the cones!! Unless they change something, this will be my last R4S. Highlight of the day, to meet RastaMan!!
  19. :-) There was a lekker mild SE blowing. I remember the left turn at Carnival, and the speed went from 20 to 50 in no time. Hoping for the same on Sunday!! Have a safe one!!!
  20. Hey maar daai oom het gesprint!! Sure agteros. That is what I said ± 3hrs for BL. BTW, the actual "winning time" for BL was 2h57. My post was to help those that struggled to decide which group to start in. Times are best guesses. For the record, barring the occational lone breakaway, the winning times for BL 2013 - 3:08 2012 - 2:57 2011 - 3:01 2010 - 2:59
  21. All the conversation around which group to start in got me curious. I only rode the 2012 edition, starting in AL, and it was lekker fast, with the front bunch finishing in 2:52. So I did a bit of digging... and not taking 2011 into account which was super fast  (AL front bunch at 2:43), you can expect the following. - AL front bunch will finish at around 2:55, size of the front bunch (AL riders only) > 50 riders. - BL front bunch will finish at around 3:00, size of the front bunch (BL riders only) < 30 riders. - CL front bunch will finish at around 3:05, size of the front bunch (CL riders only) <30 riders. I would guess the BL and CL front bunches to be much bigger, since they will contain all the guys that started in front of them that could not hold on. Bottom line, the bunch to the finish line will be beeeg, with testosterone oozing, so be careful out there!!
  22. Like the wind from the east!! Will make the hilly section into Heidelberg tougher, and the R23 drag easier, esp. if it blowns slightly from the south.
  23. Was on an old TCR wearing a red/white Flandria shirt at Serengeti. This time on my TCR Adv ISP, perhaps I will wear my Blu/white Kleenex kit on Sunday.
  24. AL for me, so again with TALUS, just like Serengeti. Hopefully will meet a few hubbers this time around.
