  1. I am 1.92 and ride the XL (58cm) switch, thing has taken me loads of places. Very capable bike
  2. The only real stretch on Tar is Chapmans peak drive up to ou wapad. And its not the worst stretch of tar in the world. Ideally you can find some way to go off road again from Noordhoek to Ou Wapad, without having to resort to the single-track that is already there next to the road. The rest are only short tar connections and the Promenade, which would make a stunning last 3km, so think its less than 30% tar all in. Also you have Hamilton's sports fields right there to use as the race village. That last section on Signal hill will be hard, going down Pat's Track after 3200m of climbing isn't a recovery ride, even for Mr. Beers What's the alternative? 5 loops of the Epic Prologue? No thanks.
  3. Already plotted a route for them: https://www.strava.com/routes/3122279095874678204 Can have a Waterpoint in Hout Bay, Tokai and Dead Man's Tree
  4. This one is going to be epic. A Proper Gravel route
  5. Read earlier someone got charged R400 for a sub at the EXPO, rocked up and told them If they could show me anywhere on website or on any other communication that it said R400 and not R200 for the substitution I would be willing to pay it, but without that how am I to know its not R4000.... Lady had nothing to respond with and just charged me R200. Hopefully they now charging everyone that.
  6. Yeah its all about who you deal with at the Expo
  7. In previous years I have had friends re-seed at registration by showing Strava rides (They will look at distance and average speed of the activity).
  8. And the absolute See you next Tuesday of a driver in a Range Rover swearing and speeding past at 90km/h up Houghton cause he was asked to slow down going past an accident zone...
  9. Hate to break it to you, but the banter boys couldn't even muster a top 10 finish
  10. So which one are you, the one that called them hipsters or the one that called them woke gravel bois?
  11. The dodgiest sections was between WP1 and WP2 where the cross-headwind was forcing teams across the entire road. There were instances where 1 peloton was passing another peloton with a car in both lanes. That's a disaster waiting to happen
  12. Rate the only solution is to stagger the fastest 10-15 Open, 5-10 mixed and Ladies teams throughout the field, this way you ensure the teams racing for a top finish are not drafting each other (looking at the DC instagram, there was Argus size pelotons happening on the R62). It also reduces the size of the faster bunches flying past the slower riders. A time penalty is not a deterrent for a slower team, as the main goal is typically finishing as a group of 12. Then implement what @Pure Savagesuggest, if slower teams are taking up the entire left hand lane, have the marshals focus on them to single our double file on the far left, at threat of losing that 12 rider finish/free beer/photo etc.
  13. 250km left, so between 9 and 14 hours left, Finish between 19:00 and 24:00 tonight I guess
  14. Rather trust a guy with a Ph.D in Bioinformatics and a background in Math and Biology than someone that dresses up in scrubs to look like a Doctor when said person is not a Medical Doctor at all. Not like this guy is not gonna benefit from these findings. But dont take my word for it, its not like there isnt loads of doctors already calling bull**** on these two clowns. But then again, the guy is a nerd working in the AI field so it must be fake. And I know that basic concepts like representative sample of the population and confirmation bias are really hard concepts, especially for these two really qualified "fake" doctors
  15. Oh you mean this clown who doesn't even know what smoke he is blowing out his arse? The guy that's not even a Medical Doctor but claims to be one? https://theprepared.com/blog/dr-ericksons-viral-covid-19-briefing-video-is-dangerously-wrong/
  16. If that is your biggest concern and you clearly are privileged enough to own a trainer, why not help these people out with food and essentials once the economy is opened and people get laid off? Better yet why not start now? Stay home, ride your IDT and contribute to your local community? However I assume that most (Read MOST not ALL) of these people complaining about the impact to the economy are more concerned with their own greed... But If you truly have family in the health care industry (based on your numbers and lack of concern I highly doubt that) you would realize that every infection vector drastically increases the risk they have to expose themselves too. Some numbers from Department of Health in KZN (Actual people in the healthcare industry on the front lines) If we have a 10% population infection in the next 3 months in Maritzburg drainage area: 150000 infected in 90 days27000 need hospital over 90 days9000 need icu over 90 daysThats 100 icu admission per day for 90 days. Say we have 200 icu beds in total in private / public....and average LOS is 7 days... Thats 700 people competing for 200 beds a week. Thats with 10% infection over a 3 month period (spread out evenly) So JUST STAY THE **** HOME
  17. I personally think jogging should not be allowed, Absolutely no way you can control people not interacting (just have a look at the sea point promenade). If you allow jogging, that place will be packed and people will interact, then go to the shop where someone from a poor community is the cashier. Gets infected and its into the townships... It also creates a very bad visual privileged people running around whilst the poor are forced to stay inside a tiny shack. 3 weeks of no exercise outdoors is a very very small sacrifice compared to those people
  18. Anyone else still waiting for their official result? E-mailed RaceTec... Ghost ship
  19. Glad to see its not just me that didn't do the CTCT according to the results
  20. Can vouch that you worked your ass off in C batch as it was basically the 2 of us and 2 other guys doing all the pulling. Always this weekend to try and get that 0.02 off again, see you at the sharp end of C
