  8. You can get a bunch from bikeman.com http://search.bikema...uery=salsa+fork I like the salsa's because I got one from bikeman http://www.bikeman.com/FK0511.html More on the salsa forks: http://salsacycles.c...category/forks/ Still work out way cheaper than suspension forks and it is steel...
  9. It is a personal choice... Both got there pros and cons. Rigid: There is a difference between steel and carbon rigid forks. I do have a steel one and it sounds if your carbon forks will be stiffer than your steel fork. Pros: Low cost, no maintenance, natural ride, light, more fun because it force you to take better lines and make you a better/thinking mtb rider. Cons: Gets dangerous on a rocky fast downhill, so you will have to go slower. Your LSB wont be able to service it or is that a pro Sus: Pros: You can go fast on rocky downhills. You do have a smoother ride. You don't have to choose you lines that carefully. Cons: Initial cost will be higher than rigid fork. Maintenance will be required. Heavier than rigid. I never had a suspension fork so I am used to a rigid fork, when you do get used to rigid you will wonder why you want to get a suspension fork. YOU are the suspension on a rigid. Ciao Nar
  10. The bar is Ritchie, cant remember which model Nice and wide, the previous bar was narrow, like the current bar setup. The tensioner setup has been changed and currently looks like this. Still don't know what the preferred setup should look like. Any ideas ? For now it is working fine and no issue...
  11. Howdy Introducing the Lazy Boy... No gears, leather seat... You just sit back, relax and peddle the hell out of it The plan was to make it SS but had it for a year geared and finally made the plunge. Am I happy ? I am not only happy but hooked 32-18 for now, want to jump to 32-16.
  12. Not hear this weekend or with the champs @divernick, I am also from around there, when do you normally ride ?
  13. Just got an sms that this race has been postponed to the 16 Oct. Not good... I am doing the Amashova that weekend :
  14. OK Go to an Outdoor Warehouse and buy some First Assent Thermal Liners gloves for R120. Problem sorted So if it gets warmer you just take it and of and ride with your normal gloves. http://www.firstascent.co.za/product-details.php?prodid=793&catid=241&level=3
  15. Did the 70 km... Did it with my brother until Breedsnek, when I took a tumble on the downhill. He rode on while I got patched up. Did finish the race. Spend way to much time walking... http://www.cyclenation.co.za/components/com_kunena/template/default_ex/images/english/emoticons/emoticon_laughing.gif Was not impressed with the youngsters on the 45 km course taking risks and not taking others people/and there own safety in consideration. Will do the 45 km next year, maybe... http://picasaweb.google.com/nardusg/MagaliesMonster2010# narra2010-05-31 04:10:33
  16. I had the same issue... Didn't buy a Niner in the end and I am still a very happy 29er rider. Look around... But saying that, Vassago also don't have stock of the Bandersnatch at the moment. Must be the fact that the US is going into summer and everybody is upgrading and buying bikes ? narra2010-05-18 06:48:24
  17. Narra - what bike do you have yours on? How long / km's have you had it on for now? Howdy I put mine on a rigid 29er. No issues and I am really enjoying the saddle. Done about 600 km on it now and what a pleasure
