  1. Hopefully this will spark others into posting theirs.
  2. Sunglasses are still covered in sealant but really enjoyed the event! Favourite part of the route has to be the first mx style descent. And wow what a privilege it was to be able to ride through the Khwa ttu center.
  3. Big fan of Emily Batty. Looks like she's recently changed her dietary approach to LCHF. She posted a "what I eat in day" video on her YouTube channel earlier this month (will try link it below). Definitely an asset to have on team keto! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTopJ5vqjmk
  4. Majority of strava app users don't pay for the premium version, so I guess they have had to implement strategies to boost revenue. Pretty sure they getting big $ from the likes of Zwift and Sufferfest etc for the paid promotion. Should probably give premium users the option of not seeing any advertisements if they wish not to. However you can block whatever you want via a chrome extension called stravini. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stravini/ilogdlddgndehmpabkafohhfapaopgkd?hl=en
  5. Hidden gem and personal favourite climb on the Tygerberg trail network is at Conties, the Black Rhino climb all the way up to the mast. Strava segment has it at 291m elevation gain at an average of 13% gradient. It goes along the fence between Conties and Kliprug. You don't have to go all the way up you can turn left and drop down into happy hops, cheeky corners, dh main line, revised dh line, supertubes or carry on up the concrete strip all the way to the top. Lots of options and pretty technical mainly because it's so steep and you go so slow that keeping your line is challenging on the rocky bits.
  6. Noted! Just had a chuckle thinking back to Yzerfontein where the Savages tricked you into riding your gravel rig. Think I remember somebody saying that the 2nd climb/pass of the day was extremely rocky, and the area is notorious for it's corrugated roads.
  7. Going by previous answers to similar questions I don't think the Captain will give much away except for "we ended on good terms" which is fair enough. Just go ride the new corridor and your interest in the old one will dissipate very quickly, it's amazing! I now purposefully included it into my loop where as I avoided the old one like the plague. Thanks TMBC.
  8. Another A++ review for Rapide! Order placed yesterday afternoon 14:30 and item arrived 09:00 am this morning. Kudo's must also go out to The Courier Guy for delivery, they clearly make a good team along with Rapide. Have used many of their products without fuss so far (touch wood) so i'm pretty sure this item with be spot on. Thanks!
  9. Using "strava sauce" as a chrome extension. As mentioned above there are plenty free software options to analyze ride data (gold cheetah = gold standard).
  10. Don't end it, just send it. Have had encounters with all of the accused but I'm still way more afraid of cars.

  13. Hi HdB, That's quite a technical question you have there but i'm sure there are some guru that my be able to give a definitive answer. Just to make sure, you don't have any of the above mentioned trainers but are looking to get one but want some insight into which one would be the most 10 speed campy friendly as that's the bike you'll be riding on the trainer? Off the top of my head (somebody please correct me if i'm wrong) you'll need a specific freehub for all of the above mentioned trainers. However, the Kickrs born in 2017 and 2018 (i'm guessing that means the Kickr 3) like you said won't fit the campy freehub. That being said I know there is such a thing as a 10 shimano cassette (fits a standard freehub) but its made with campy spacing between the sprockets. No idea how you would get your hands on one but they do exist. Also I know of few folk who run a standard 10 speed shimano casette with their campy 10 speed drivetrains and have had no issues whatsoever. Okay it may be a little noisy but nobody has an issue with the chain slipping (just need to index the gears correctly before you start hammering away). What I would do.... Direto with a shimano 10 speed cassette and a normal 1.8mm spacer. Play around with the indexing, turn the music up and crank out the watts. Interesting to hear what other opinions will be. Keep us posted!
  14. Hi Gnarly, Based the question crit crusher vs grand fondo training plans I would say crit crusher in your case. Given the fact that your goals aren't to specific (nothing wrong with that) and your you just want some decent motivation go for the crit crusher. Briefly had a look at both plans workout and in general the crit crusher is more high end conditioning (zones 4 and up) where the grand fondo is more endrance/tempo conditioning (zones 2 and 3). I'm guessing most people would find the crit crusher workouts more stimulating than the more boring endurance/tempo workouts that the grand fondo has. Also bare in mind that your outside rides are already endrance/tempo so to then jump on the trainer and do the same things sounds silly (well for me anyways). Of course when it comes to training principles you need specificity in your training to meet your goals. But if your goals are just all round fitness and to be a bada** on the bike then variation in your training will most likely keep you motivated. It's worth noting that training at higher intensities has more of a cross over effect in terms of benefits at low intensities than the other way around. Do a bit research into "polarized training" to get some more insight. All the best out there in the desert.
  15. Hectic FOMO . Wild coast is so under-rated i.m.o. All the best with the event fanievb enjoy .
