  1. Bought a pair of very nice Indola shorts yesterday at your local shop Wes for only R600. Bought at Geco.
  2. How much moola Wes?
  3. Blinged up nicely, looks very cool. Got DT swiss hubs with these "through axle" thingy......... Anyway looks lekker.
  4. Mine is converted to Tubeless, std tyres.
  5. After a lot of shopping and eventually narrowing it down to a Anthem X2, maaaybe X1, I took a different direction and went 2011 Anthem 29er. My first 29er. What bugged me a bit was the Silver standard colour of the 29er. But then I found an "accidental" import in the colours of the 2011 Anthem X1. Unique, lekker. Must say, I am over the moon. Really love the looks of it. Bike very well spec'ed.(sp?) My first ride this morning was magic. Perfect. Must have been the excitement, but I cut 10% time of my average time for the route I did.
  6. Difference in price between the X1 and X2(including tubeless conversion-Stans) is R 5000. Less than expected. So for 5000 you get XT wheels and better shock. And XT brakes vs Avid Elixir R (I kinda like the Avid) What to do ............ ? And both look equally cool to me.
  7. http://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/ Check out the trails section. Pleasure.
  8. Be specific man. In the market, but the brand names just seems pricey.
  9. Yes yes yes, I assume this has been discussed, but Firstly, the white fork would have looked better on the X1. Then also, even if the X1 was the one I wanted, can it really be worth it? Not sure what the price diff will be, but the real advantage for me would only be XT wheels. Is the Fox float 23 rear shock that much better than the 2 for the average user? Any comments will really be much appreciated. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_generated/_generated_za/bikes/models/images/550/2011/Anthem_X_2_GE_blk_silver.jpg http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_generated/_generated_za/bikes/models/images/550/2011/Anthem_X_1_GE_wht_blue.jpg
  10. Nee my ***, we said MEERENDAL.........
  11. And there are lots of beginners there, like me. + kids etc.
  12. Do meerendal. Do the yellow, easy. Not much singletrack. People can pass you. Puncture, never to far to walk back to your car. Check out http://www.tygerbergmtb.co.za/index.html for more info.
  13. OT, but what is the difference between the Trance and Anthem. (besides the way they look) Thanks
  14. Nice one Wes.
  15. I need one early next year. I wonder if these prices will go up by then. Should actually keep on heading down......... not?
  16. So where does one get the 500 for R2500. Local?
  17. bike wash PIC
  18. Actually, for scuba you want to stay away from pure oxygen. For deep diving they will remove oxygen from the air mix.
  19. Thanks for all the advice. Crackerjack, where are you located and what size is your bike?
  20. Hi A 2011 X2 will trade for +- 21500. I can get a 2010 model for +- 19200. 1. Would the difference in price make you go for the 2010 or am I loosing out on future trade in value? 2. I was never sure about that light blue, but equally unsure about the 2011 black. Your thoughts please? Well looking at them again, the black looks kind a cool............ http://universal-bicycle.com/products/20100909122917.jpg http://www.everndencycles.co.uk/smsimg/92/3393-12497-main-giant_2011_008-92.jpg
  21. Thanks A quick search on the www for "reviews" has the XT as the overwhelming favourite. I wonder if this is real or a fan-boy thing.
  22. I am researching brakes and have this noob question. What are they referring to when they talk about: better modulation O, I am researching XT vs Avid Elixir R. Comments welcome. Thanks
