  1. Says "Rock Stars" just as he looks at Jared Leto!! BRILLIANT!! "You don't know where I've been Lou! You don't know where I've been!"
  2. I'd bump that up to an 8 for pure, exhilarating entertainment. Loved the Love - Hate - Love thing between Arnie and Hamilton. All the chase scenes were brilliant - lots of little nods to the original movies. Really good fun!
  3. That's a super low RHR! I can only assume you are incredibly fit. If that is the case, the fact that you're coming off a "High Base" and you're able to discern some real positive changes, this should be good news for people coming from a low base (said unfit) and moving to plant based. Would be interesting to see how your cholesterol and BP levels have been impacted. What about aches and pains and have you noticed any effect on DOMS after workouts?
  4. Happy Vegan Day everybody! https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-11-01-being-vegan-sometimes-needs-fleshing-out/
  5. 40 Years on and still the scariest movie EVA! https://www.sterkinekor.com/details/HO00001820
  6. Anyone else in Gauteng, notice how prevalent those RED PSHB stickers around the trees, are? https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-10-29-bugs-borers-and-heatwaves-life-and-mental-health-in-a-hotter-joburg/ Riding through Saxonwold, Rosebank and Dunkeld I see them all over the place.
  7. ?
  8. This is definitely worth a read. https://gamechangersmovie.com/benefits/optimizing-health/ The health benefits experienced by those Firefighters after just 7 days on a plant based diet was amazing!!
  9. Anyone watched this ? https://gamechangersmovie.com/ Watched it on Netflix last night. Please take your pinch of salt, especially that whole manhood bit (wtf?) I enjoyed the last bit about the Rangers in ZIM, though. The insight gained from the Ranger, rings true, the only way to really conserve and protect animals (which he has now dedicated his life to ) is to conserve and protect ALL animals.
  10. Eish! https://www.theguardian.com/media/2019/oct/16/meat-the-family-new-reality-tv-show-challenges-carnivores-to-eat-their-pets
  11. Like What?!?! https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-10-16-sa-reclassifies-33-wild-species-as-farm-animals/
  12. Watched Ad Astra - I wasn't sure what to expect and that's probably the best way to watch this movie. No expectations. If you had to compare it to something I guess you could call it a noveau splicing of Gravity and The Martian, with a bit of lighting and sound from The Arrival. It was gripping from the start, Brad Pitt as the stable, unflappable astronaut holds the center together while the universe around him is literally crumbling. His inner musings kept making be think of Fight Club. It was thought provoking and entertaining, even a little shocking at times. Highly Recommended. 9/10
  13. Hope you all pre-order yours !! https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-10-02-we-have-a-game-changer-a-decade-of-daily-maverick/
  14. There are no absolutes in this world.
  15. Granted, but I think its pretty low down on the list of factors that led to this kid being malnourished. I can think of a handful of reasons that would take precedence over veganism, as reasons for this kid being malnourished. The assertion made was that veganism leads to malnourished infants. I don't think that is true.
  16. A 14 month old kid weighing in at 5kg. I don't think veganism is the issue there.
  17. ABSO-Freakin'-LUTELY! Love this movie!
  18. I read something recently: "If everyone in the world lived like a villager in a rural town, then the world could easily accomodate a population of 12 Billion. However if everyone in the world lived like the average middle class American, the world would not be able to accomodate even 2 Billion" Population is not the problem, consumption is the issue. 19. It boggles the mind. Water as a medium requires exponential increases in power in order move through it faster. There is no technological hokus-pocus that you can introduce, I mean its a guy in a speedo. And yet these records continue to tumble.
  20. Not really cycling related. But what are hubs thoughts on doping in swimming? It seems that at every big meet, be it World champs or Olympics, World Records are broken. Looking at the current list of world records there are 8 World records that were broken at the the most recent world champs.
  21. Was probably residual grossness that seeped out of the squirrel sushi enema's. eaters?! I meant eaters.....
  22. bwahaha! Apologies! Fail of note! As you were.
  23. Sh*t! That is a miscasting of note! I watched her training vids for JW3, no one who shoots like that should be allowed anywhere near a mermaid outfit. Just saying!
  24. Nice article on commuters in JHB. These guys would give us all a hiding in the commuter challenge: https://www.newframe.com/challenges-of-bicycle-commuting-in-car-crazy-joburg/
  25. Gotta cut down on the meat intake y'all! https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/apr/17/even-moderate-intake-of-red-meat-raises-cancer-risk-study-finds
