  10. Nice review of the instant Pot here, is this what you are referring too? https://www.nutreats.co.za/instant-pot-review/
  11. LEKKA! To be honest the avoiding dairy stuff is a headache. I do yogurt with fruit for breakfast and jam and cheese sarmies for lunch. My biggest challenge is always going to be dinner. I don't think I've ever had a meat free home cooked dinner. EVER...... until last night. We did this: https://www.nutreats.co.za/recipe/vegan-instant-pot-curry/ Which was pretty yum. Tonight it'll be this: https://veganuary.com/recipes/avocado-fresh-tomato-garlic-basil-sauce-pasta/ But yeah, its going good so far.
  12. I think we can all agree that there is no "silver bullet" for getting us out of this mess. Another thing that we can agree on is that sitting on our hands and doing nothing is also not going to save us. The premise behind going vegan/vegetarian/meat-lite is that it is a conscious, active decision to make a difference in some small way to benefit the planet. It is also the most impactful way for ordinary people to make a difference, ie, most bang for your buck, so to speak. It's already been posted but here it is again: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/may/31/avoiding-meat-and-dairy-is-single-biggest-way-to-reduce-your-impact-on-earth
  13. This was a very interesting book: The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert ABOUT THE BOOK:Over the last half a billion years, there have been five mass extinctions of life on earth. Scientists around the world are currently monitoring the sixth, predicted to be the most devastating extinction event since the asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs. Elizabeth Kolbert combines brilliant field reporting, the history of ideas and the work of geologists, botanists and marine biologists to tell the gripping stories of a dozen species - including the Panamanian golden frog and the Sumatran rhino - some already gone, others at the point of vanishing. The sixth extinction is likely to be mankind's most lasting legacy and Elizabeth Kolbert's book urgently compels us to rethink the fundamental question of what it means to be human https://www.amazon.com/Sixth-Extinction-Unnatural-History/dp/1250062187/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1545945323&sr=8-1&keywords=the+sixth+extinction+an+unnatural+history
  14. Signed up for Veganuary! But almost certain it'll be Reductionuary instead. Let's see how it goes.
  15. Aquaman - no, no, no. If you want to do an Origins movie, do an origins movie. If you want to do an adventure, quest movie, do an adventure, quest movie. If you want to do a revenge move, do a revenge movie. But please for the love of all that is good, choose one! This movie was three hours of rambling, confused, convoluted much-ado about nothing screen writing. It was like if Moana and Lord of the Rings had a baby. What a complete let down. DC just can't get it right.
  16. Another trailer -
  17. Had to laugh on the weekend. Met up with some old friends at Monte, guess where we ate. The Meat Co. Took all my will power, but managed a meat free meal. Kudo's to the meat co though, their Red Quinoa Salad is yum!
  18. When last did you hear about a d-0-o-s on the road, actually being helpful? I've heard it all now.
