    Did my 6th CTCC and third on a tandem called the Drommedaris with my wife. Must say this is my and her favourite race of the year. Also saying that this is her only cycling race every year. After a taking our tandem out of the garage for the first time since 2024 CTCT, we did a nice 17km bike check on Friday. Sunday my wife was a beast and we finished in our PB time of 3:46 out of 2C. We love the highway to Muizenberg, only time I would ever be able to pull a bunch 😅 Really love the camaderie between the tandems. Kudos to all the dads with kids. Especially the 3 dads with 3 tandems and 3 kids doing it together. Think I saw you should have started in # and rather did the ride with your kids. Thats the dream and why I will keep the tandem. Maybe without the squeky duck on the front for 109km And if you were ever wondering, a tandem does fit on the roof of a Jimny. Well sort of.

    Enjoy CC. Also in Cape Town CBD. About R1000 cheaper than Ciovota and of a very good qaulity. Have done a full IM and about 4 70.3s in one of theirs, with no issues.

    @ChrisF you do get two raceboards yes! Two timing boards one front and one back to register for each riders time (which is obviously the same) and two of those small numbers for the handlebars. Last year my time didn't register, but after query I got awarded my stokers, a.k.a the misses, time. Bonus, you even get two of the amazing racepacks. We didn't know wat to do with all the goodies last year. 🤣 6th Argus this year, 3rd on the Tandem with my wife. Not divorced yet, but I know we will be asked that question about 200 times during our 4 hour Cruise. And yes. I know she isn't really pedaling.

    Maybe try the Merida Range at Bikeaddict. A lot of bike within your price range. I am on a Reacto 4000 with a couple of friends on the Scultura 4000s. Looking at a new bike between 30 and 40. That's a lot of bang for your buck.

    Did my first DC this year! Great experience. Our social Tri Group entered a mixed team and went for the Milner and did a respectable 7:30 odd. Definitely seeded wrong (not sure how the seeding works, but I should have asked for a earlier start) but didn't take away from the day. We had guys who did IM and members who haven't cycled further that 110ks. Finishing 12 strong is special and we will surely be back.

    Zama Order one from Enjoy in Cape Town. Our Triathlon Club uses their TriSuites and I am very happy with them. I have done 3 70.3s and the full in my suite and it is still perfect. Price is also great! Much cheaper than a Ciovita or 2XU but the same quality. I think price is the same as a First Accent, but I would for sure rather go for the Enjoy one.

    As I am getting desperate, I was wondering if there was maybe a hubber who had an entry for the GunRun and could maybe not run anymore? See entries got capped this year at 8000 and sold out very early. A lot of people looking for entries and a lot of scammers on the FB site of Gun Run. Been running the event since 2018 and would be sad to miss. As this is always prep for Cape Town Marathon a month later.

    Unbelievable! Doing Ironman , Oceans and Comrades in one year is a true achievement! I wouldnt have been able to IM after a full Oceans or even thought about doing Comrades! Especially with the conditions we got at PE. Getting a silver on top of that, really something special!

    Just more than 70 days to IM and 70.3PE. Looking at options to rent some racewheels? Anybody know about a company who does rentals for a week or so? Preferably Cape area.

    Richard and the guys from Enjoy deliver qaulity garments as well as good customer service. Lead times are very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

    Also started in D. Didnt expect that start. Would also like the start to be neutralised if possible. It was frantic getting out of town and by the Hermon road I decided that I was just spending too much energy trying to get to the bunch. Just not technically good enough to handle that start at that pace and hold the bunch. A buddy and I did a long stretch almost solo till the F bunch came flying from behind, which was still difficult to catch any wheel with the speed difference. Got over Bothmas and formed a small group of about 8/9 with a very nice experienced rider who organised a group and we flew the last half of the race and ended just over 3:15 and left wondering what could have been if the start was easier and I could just hold a wheel. Thats how you learn I guess. Must admit I also started a bit back and got held up by the man with the puncture! But no hard feelings. That is possible my worst nightmare starting a race with a flat. All and all a good day!

    Shaper Thanks a lot! I thought I knew a bit about garmin connect, but that is a game changer. Thanks for the advice as well. Looks like a nice bike course, should be easier than Mosselbay!

    I am on a Merida Reacto 4000, bought from Bike Addict about 3 months ago. Also looked at the Titan Valerian, which also seemed like a really good bike. My budget was also around 40 000. They are hard to get now with shortages but worth it if you can find one. Friend bought a Scultura 5000 for about the same price and it also looks great! I dont think you will go wrong with a Merida.

    Anyone have an idea what is happening with Ironman 2024? No dates yet released for the event. Looking to do my first one, but have a feeling the date and/or venue might be changed?

    I see on the spreadsheet my goal was 04:15 , ended up on a 04:10. Very happy with the ride. Slow start in terrible conditions took away possibility of a sub 4, but reason enough to come back again next year

    Guys. Need some clarification from somebody who might have bought a device with Discovery Devices recently. I am finally up to 50%. Just want to know. Do I get 50% of the device up to a maximum discount of R4000 or rather 50% of a max amount of R4000? Basically if my device costs R7000, is my discount going to be R2000 or R3500? Website reads very confusing for me. Just want to find out before I stand red faced in the shop.
