  1. I must say. One of the better goodie bags in a while. Not saying much. But not bad
  2. DC , Ironman 70.3 Mosselbay, Ultra Trail Cape Town and 94.7 are all on one weekend.
  3. I started in the 2B, did 3:30 and I passed him when he was waiting in the finishing straight. I was very surprised to see an e-biker knowing their rules. So started in 1C but did the 3:50 I guess. Only some rules apply to him.
  4. Did the Expo run yesterday. Parked at P1. The closest one to the stadium. Finished Expo at about 18:00 , got the trainers on and the wife and I went for a run on the Promenade. Came back at 19:05 to see that there had been broken into our car and her cellphone and bankcards were stolen. Very expensive Argus this one. Be watchfull
  5. Bit sad and confused at why events don't take each other into a count. This year IM 70.3 Mosselbay, Double Century and Ultra Trail Cape Town are all on the same weekend. Yes, maybe the crowds/markets are a bit different, but still. Has become a tradition to do Mosselbay on the Sunday, and then do Double Century the next Saturday. Maybe someone knows why Mosselbay has been moved a week later than normal?
  6. I am basically doing the opposite this year. Did Argus on a tandem the last three years with my wife. Favourite event of the year every year. Spending some qaulity time with the misses. She unfortunately broken her arm during a ride late December and hasn't recovered enough to ride yet. Bit nervous as I haven't really raced the race before. Starting in 2B after a fairly good Winelands. Hopefully getting close to 3:10. Next year we will be back on the Drommedaris.
  7. I am not complaining. Had a good race and won the big prize at the lucky draw afterwards, so wil for sure be back in 2027. Thanks to the organisers!
  8. Did my second DC as part of "Loerie Bakery" mixed team. One half from George and the other half from Paarl. Unbelievable how eventhough only meeting up on Friday evening, this event can bond a group of individuals. Got in it at 7:17 with a legit Charles Milner. I don't understand people waiting at the end for teammates they dropped on first witch. Isn't the Charles Milner about helping the ones who cramped or just struggled with the heat? We stucked together well and having a bakery as sponsor, was unbelievable at the team zones! Got learned a lesson by a couple of more senior team mates with same serious ballie strenght and experience. Definently one of my favourite events of the year. Just wish it wasn't the week after 70.3 Mossel Bay every year. Also a bit lower temps and no block headwind would have been great, but then it wouldnt have been DC! Unbelievable to see the top teams come by. After all the KoTAS talk, I eagerly waited to see who would past first. No race recaps from the KoTAs teams? Really intrested in finding out what happened on the day for each time! Now rest and maybe Rapha this year.
  9. So the only 5min I didn't spend refreshing the DC website, I missed the seeding. Well thats just great
  10. I agree to all the above! If possible add a TV to your setup. Much more immersive on the big screen. On longer easier rides I have TP Virtual running on the tablet with a movie, series or some or other event on the TV. Helps the time tick away. Just remember 1 hour on an indoor trainer is eqaul to 9 days in the real world
  11. Hello hubbers Shocked this morning when my Wahoo Kickr snap had no power. After a couple of minutes, concluded that the issue is with the power brick. I have been using the unit since 2020 and it has been used regulary. Last ride Thursday evening. My question is the following. - Do I need to replace with a Wahoo brick or are there any generic versions? - is there any stores that stock? Thank you in advance! Enjoy Le Tour
  12. Those Nachos were worth the 109k.
  13. Did my 6th CTCC and third on a tandem called the Drommedaris with my wife. Must say this is my and her favourite race of the year. Also saying that this is her only cycling race every year. After a taking our tandem out of the garage for the first time since 2024 CTCT, we did a nice 17km bike check on Friday. Sunday my wife was a beast and we finished in our PB time of 3:46 out of 2C. We love the highway to Muizenberg, only time I would ever be able to pull a bunch 😅 Really love the camaderie between the tandems. Kudos to all the dads with kids. Especially the 3 dads with 3 tandems and 3 kids doing it together. Think I saw you should have started in # and rather did the ride with your kids. Thats the dream and why I will keep the tandem. Maybe without the squeky duck on the front for 109km And if you were ever wondering, a tandem does fit on the roof of a Jimny. Well sort of.
  14. Enjoy CC. Also in Cape Town CBD. About R1000 cheaper than Ciovota and of a very good qaulity. Have done a full IM and about 4 70.3s in one of theirs, with no issues.
  15. @ChrisF you do get two raceboards yes! Two timing boards one front and one back to register for each riders time (which is obviously the same) and two of those small numbers for the handlebars. Last year my time didn't register, but after query I got awarded my stokers, a.k.a the misses, time. Bonus, you even get two of the amazing racepacks. We didn't know wat to do with all the goodies last year. 🤣 6th Argus this year, 3rd on the Tandem with my wife. Not divorced yet, but I know we will be asked that question about 200 times during our 4 hour Cruise. And yes. I know she isn't really pedaling.
