  1. Motorists vs Cyclists.... again
  2. As an older guy who have had similar experiences in the past- the only advice I can give you is to hang in there. Bad times like anything else doesn't last forever and it will eventually pass.
  3. I'm small business owner and my biggest problem at the moment is getting my clients to pay their invoices on time. We've been going for just over 20 years and this is the worst its ever been.
  4. People are struggling the cost of living Is through the roof.
  5. We might as well then claim Jan Frodeno as well.
  6. I think the heat might be his kriptonite, lots of sweat marks on his bib. But I have new respect for him after listening to his post race interview today. Love his attitude.
  7. Pogacar seems very strong almost on another level, reminds me of Lance.
  8. Maybe have a look at one of the Camping or Outdoor shops.

I had the same issue on my SLX 12spd, had to get it serviced after about a month and I'm a dirt roadie 70% of my milage are on tar roads.
  10. Race Pro is "supposed" to be a single feed bottle. You make a concentrate according to your calorie requirements. In other words no other fuel. I think if you are going to mix it up there are cheaper alternatives.
  11. The biggest problem for me was taste fatigue. I'll use it again on shorter rides but for anything longer than 5hrs I'm going back to solid food.
  12. My 2c I used Race Pro for Race to the Sun two weekends ago, I forced 18 scoops into a 750ml bottle. The product works as advertised wasn't too thick and the taste was okay. I was out there for about 7hrs never felt hungry and energy levels were fine. But I don't think I'll use it for such a long ride again, I got tired of the taste very quickly and had to force it down after a couple hours and you need to take a lot of water with it as well. If it's a hot day and there are no water tables to refill your extra bottle/camelbak it might become a problem.
  13. this is one of my biggest gripes with ebikes - they create a false sense of accomplishment. I have a two "mates" who ride eMTBs and they have done most of the larney races like Tour de Tuli, Wine to Wales, JHB2C, Sani2C, etc... And at social meeting they always have the biggest mouths telling everyone how easy or how tough the rides were and how well they did in their age groups and how they smashed their previous times but they never mention that they did it on ebikes.
  14. lol... so much for "over and out"? 🤣😂
  15. could be worse 😉
  16. Saw some Sani pics this morning and I was wondering how waterproof are ebikes? If not the guys must have been very nervous on the flouting-bridges.
  17. @DuncanDoughnuts lol... cry me a river! He can just buy two motorbikes.
  18. Did Race to the Sun a couple weekend ago and we had the same problem. Was actually dreadful along some of the sections.
  19. .... or just ride a normal bike like the rest of us or go ride Ebike events. Having Ebikes in a bicycle race is the same as inviting ants to the picnic.
  20. Agreed, I see there is a UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-country World Cup this year. The motorbikes should have their own events or they should start the race in their own batch.
  21. lol, not a new problem saw this on the Sani2C website: "we encourage the following etiquette: No drafting of a normal bike behind an ebike is permitted. Ebikers must understand and respect that classic bike riders are under pressure at times. Incessant chirping—however jocular—from ebikers when others are struggling can result in unnecessary hostility. We encourage ebikers to match their efforts to those of normal bikers around them. Doing this will earn respect from everyone in the group. Riding on Turbo mode and swapping out batteries every 40 kilometres will not win you brownie points or beers at the finish. Ebikers need to keep their position in a group and not constantly move to the front of the group on the climbs, only to be caught on the descents. If ebikers find themselves being caught on descents, they need to stay at the back of the group or stay away on the descents. Not respecting this will result in conflict sooner or later. The most admirable ebikers are the ones who nobody notices in a group. Somehow, they manage to ride harmoniously among normal bikers without drawing attention to themselves. If every ebike rider aspired to this, there would be no animosity between classic bikers and ebikers. Bells on ebikes should only be used to stir cattle and horses from the trail. They should never be used to alert classic riders to the fact that ebikers are in Turbo mode and want to pass. Teams fully comprising ebikers or including ebikers will not qualify for the overall prize or a place on the podium. Separate results will be allocated for the ebike category'.
  22. Keep them separate let the motorbikes have their own event.
  23. For me on rides shorter than 4hrs I can get away with using almost anything 32Gi, Cadence, Coke & water, Biogen etc... but if the ride is longer than 5hrs I need proper food.
  24. Orange slices with a dash of salt is flipped awesome during a race especially when you can't stomach much else.
