A better solution would be to have normal starts etc, just have start chutes in a long line into town so when you get into your batch, you will be around 200 odd people, who you will be around on the road anyway. This was you avoid the whole mixing with the other 400 people in the other start chutes.

Yes, but the line on the road was 25cm away from the photo finish line it turn out, which is within the 35cm UCI tolerance. The issue is not the technology, its making the 2 lines the same as the winner is different between the 2 lines.

Will be interesting to see, Mclaren in season performance increase has been average at best, where RBR are great at it. I think with Mercedes and RBR at each other there is a chance of a Lando win this year.

I think they missed a trick here, to self seed and spread out the field, they should have started in Town, gone up high level road, then up the Glen then the normal route. The 8% sections would create social distancing.

Lando is also very, what's the best wording, aggressive/competitive with Max Verstappen. When asked about Max spin before the restart, he said Charles was soft and should have taken the place from Max and why did he wait. (Charles on the other hand had no team radio and thought that it was a normal restart not rolling one and when saw Max disappear and Lando come past he knew something was up)

See did not get many shots of the van during the holiday, but we had 9 days on unheard of weather on the garden route. Lake was like this every day of the holiday, my upper body was broken.

It does seem strange that the margin between is so TINY yet the position of the finish line photography is more than 2cm different from the actual finish line on the road.

So, turns out the on the line camera was not on the line. So Tom crossed the finish line first but Wout crossed the photo finish line first. The background on the line is red, in the photo finish its yellow. Bit of an oopsie.

What a race, most impressive on the day were the 2 Ferraris. Besides Carlos setting up his brake bias and doing some rally stints, they were really consistent. Russel trying to get into Bottas seat a little too quick, Bottas probably in last season in F1. Fighting a Williams while team mate fighting for podium... Mclaren not wasting time and putting the team first and getting Dan to move over for Lando. Mazepin did finish the race, although did get a spin in. Perez pulling an Albon. Max almost losing it on the restart, Lando questioning why Charles did not pass him. All in all, amazing GP.
