  1. Yip and okes are looking at next weeks forecast and seeing 'oh its only 28 in Montagu with some thundershowers. yet on either side.....
  2. I hear you, the conjunction needs to be addressed,
  3. I was planning to go through this arvie, but its 44degrees in century City and 35in Muizenberg.... I'm heading to the beach. See you in the douches
  4. At least 5 years cycle racing experience required to be eligible for a racing age category group, of which 2 of the last 3 must be in 1A. <insert open flip out deck chair meme>
  5. worn out into a rag long time ago
  6. that is flipppen sad, like really sad.
  7. looked like a proper gravel race today. MVDP Del Toro Pelezzari lit it up
  8. If our boy keeps this up he'd be in a good position for TdF Selection
  9. Look has changed hands several times in the past 5 years. I would be careful with this choice because of this as spares could be a problem if this trend continues. I have Shimano XTR M960 pedals that are 20 years old. As Droo said they outlive cockroaches in the apolocalypse
  10. the oke in blue had an eventful day. Dropped the chain somewhere near Scarborough. We passed him while he was struggling with the chain. he got piked up by a group and they piked me up as I was getting going after my crash. Then along Kommetjie road an Outrider he was wheel slipping switched and we nearly had a crash. And then the finishe line incident where he was trying to lead out a team mate in 1A (wasnt anywhere near for the win so not sure what as going through their heads ). Eish. crap day out and he was still quite magnanimous about it
  11. lekker man, this is the atart of an exciting journey. My youngest dips her feet into the XCO waters on Saturday at Devonbosch
  12. I'm still trying to workout how on a wiiiiiiiiide slow corner he felt it necessary to switch my front wheel/clip my bars. I was also taking that corner as wide as possible while trying to shorten the distance to the wheels in front of me. What I recall is the box looking at me as he drifts into me and whack my bars right out of my hands.
  13. Looks ok, with some rain predicted but other forecasts show hot days the 17th-19th as well as rain (thunderstorms?)
  14. Luke Moir was on a gravel bike because Mondraker doesn't make a road bike
  15. I should have stayed further up the field. But every time I went forward I dragged some okes with me then they coast up next to me and squeeze me out to side, then they drop back again *%$%$^. Many okes where hanging on by very thin fingernails and i got that point too with all the wasted energy. Morale of my story is I need to get all my speed back that I've lost through almost exclusively MTBing the last 2 years. But I can handle my bike, except when a big Peter Oliver crashes into me and then just F'soff because you know, "my time".
  16. On a positive note, The event just felt a little more like the Old Argus. The Marshalls seemed more engaged, The finish area was superb, more thn enough Coke and water, I even had two ice lollies. and the medals. These are proper so well done to the CycleTour Trust Team and CoCT for putting on a superb event. And the train service was excellent. SO Easy to hop on (Once I had woken up the security and got him to open the gate!!) Kudos to PRASA (ja thats me praising an SOE)
  17. It appears that this poor riding quality and etiquette is just getting worse. Chalked off No.28 today. Seriously contemplating what 29 and 30 will look like. This event seems to bring out the worst in people chasing time
  18. Yes I did. Shoulder is a back to being stuffed and wounds didn’t bleed down to my socks so I carried on but lost the group I was with 😢 im just so gatvol of this crap mentality funriders have where it’s just me me me me. we lost the main & group up Smits so it was a mad chase to get back and a few of us tried but okes just sit on the wheel and never come through. then when they do they knock you off the bike!
  19. Started &…. hardest first 20km I can remember. But as usual there’s the lot who have done only a couple of Argus races and have worked the seeding system to land in the age catergories. Somehow everytime they pass a timing they flippen brake or slow down 🤬 then to the box who took me down at soetwater intersection, don’t come back next year. Stay on zwift where you to belong
  20. Way better this year than previous years agreed
  21. yeah, Gavin's time was also full sus 29er on 2,4 mtb tyres. So he's time is 3rd fastest on a full MTB. Dana's time is on a 26er IIRC
  22. Why confused? Is there a faster time on Mtb over the current route?
  23. That was on the old route. New record on 109km is held by Gavin Ryan, a saffa living in UK.
  24. not just entered...buuuuuuuut waaas inviiiiiiiiited to ride..... special people these are
