  1. That was on the old route. New record on 109km is held by Gavin Ryan, a saffa living in UK.
  2. not just entered...buuuuuuuut waaas inviiiiiiiiited to ride..... special people these are
  3. main issue is the lack of a title sponsor still....
  4. now you bring back memories
  5. Ya The Expo is just not what it used to be. Sadly, since about 2016 its only been in decline. We can remember the haydays of the Powerband stand and cyclists clamoring for the device to block the dreaded 3G signals from frying their sub3!!
  6. I hear they upgraded to chickpeas....
  7. Should be fine for a DT Swiss star ratchet because a pawl and spring freehub also needs low tack grease to prevent the pawls sticking in the closed position. PS: My LBS did order the genuine DT Swiss grease for me. I"ve still got the tub. It lasts a long time
  8. bokkie donnered into him at Tankwa Trek. He's still not mended so no point in trying to compete for ACE win
  9. The DT Swiss Racthet drive grease is a low tackifier grease with a Consistency of 0. There isn't a lot of options but Chris King Ring drive grease works or you can use a pumpable tractor steering rack grease and share the 20kg pail with your mates
  10. beat me to it..... excellent for Tristan and it will open the race up a bit because he is an unknown as paired with Matt.
  11. Doping authorities can be reasonable if the cases do not set a bad precedent. Every job carries a large degree of nuances and politics Totally aligned. People make mistakes even those administering the rules. Agreed. Infact two of those chaps are actually flippen lekker okes who I raced against in my younger days. They were faced with two pathways, one of which was give up competitive cycling because doping was rife or be part of it. The rest is history. Did they stop being flippen lekker okes? No. just made a bad decision that snowballed. well I mean , the amount of rugby players alone should be more than enough motivation to retract the life time bans . Those okes didn't grow up on raw eggs and genetics alone....
  12. looks outside and find out... <Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrr............>
  13. ons bou a muur, bring bakstene
  14. Sewage all over the Atlantic beaches from melkbos
  15. too late bru, there is no cure for your face😁
  16. Bru, why not just ride to the start? Its a 50min warm up
  17. send feedback to info@citycyclingclub.co.za all feedback will be considered as the club WANTS to improve the event for next year.
  18. WILL be addressed for next year.
  19. team number allocation is largely subjective with a smattering of UCI points ranking thrown in. Here's what you friend Ai has to say: Team numbers for the Cape Epic Elite Men's category, particularly for the prologue, are allocated based on a combination of UCI ranking, team strength, and, most notably, the performance of the team's riders in the previous year's event. Brujulabike.com +1 Top Seeding: The previous year's overall winners typically receive race number "1" (with teammates assigned 1-2). Performance-Based Allocation: Subsequent numbers are assigned to elite teams based on their UCI rankings and status as top favorites for the podium. Prologue Start Order: For the prologue, these assigned numbers generally determine the start order, with top-seeded teams starting later in the day to increase the drama and media coverage of the top contenders. Elite Field: The Elite Men's category usually consists of approximately 50 strong UCI teams. Epic Series +4 Team numbers and official start times can be found in the registered riders list on the Cape Epic website or the Epic Series App. Epic Series +1
  20. oh wow thank for you sharing old news, Have you found her name and case on the SAIDS website yet? I have found her and her team mates names on the Cape Epic start list so maybe Babse is right and the Epic's new owners have thrown out the life time ban because maybe they realise they' wouldn't have any triathletes and precious few rugby players to promote their event?
  21. last year I pick up the train in Lakeside just before 5am. It matched the same scheduled time as the regular in week trains. There were at least 50 okes with their bikes already on board. The chaps who got on in Fish Hoek said there was a board up the week before the CTCT indicating trains running to and from town for the day. They couldn't buy tickets on the morning, some purchased the day before. We picked up another 100 or so along the way. It was quite a lekker buzz with all the nervous tension and what what. Hopefully this year Prasa has a kiosk at the expo and we can buy tickets there nudge nudge wink wink Mr Bellairs
  22. Her name isn’t in the SAIDS list of offenders so perhaps the sanction was overturned. If I recall she was pinged for some cardiac medication used to control arrhythmia? I seem to recall an appeal against the ban. interestingly her teamie was also pinged, for dexamethasone and had his appeal upheld and served 6months.
  23. Because last year is used the train based on a schedule published on the PRASA website
  24. Ah ha, could have sworn it was running yesterday since that infernal siren gets used at every level crossing
  25. foir now Matt is not riding as he doesn't have a team mate ....DOH🤥
