  1. Haha, maybe interesting to you, to me it sounds like pain!![emoji13] Thanks David, that makes sense! Guess it's time for a FTP test soon, haven't done one in a while.
  2. Thanks to everyone donating! The Back a buddy fund just reached R26k and still going!! That's awesome!
  3. I believe there will be a list. Also a list showing who crossed each checkpoint at what time.
  4. Lol if you look at my weight that FTP means boggerol!! [emoji23]
  5. Hi David, Got a new estimated FTP message last night. Doesn't seem to be calculated from the 95% of 20min power effort at 305W method. Then my estimated FTP should be around 290 Watts. How does it determine my estimated FTP to be 306 Watts? Doesn't sound correct.
  6. You mean a Zwift event only? Yes. A lot more people using Zwift than Rouvy unfortunately. Enjoy your ride and good luck!
  7. The funds raised is also climbing fast! Almost at R12 000 already. Good job guys!
  8. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vy0aHVJpwUfD1WOL8KmJXaf5XkZGcYj8GgX_d0ZjhLQ/edit#gid=1634268781 The list of guys taking part in this is growing fast!! I'm getting excited about this now! (Maybe just lockdown crazytalk starting to show)
  9. Correct!! I'll edit original post.
  10. Event Name: The v361 ULTRA Challenge When: 24 April 2020 Where: Stay Home!, Western Cape Category: Virtual Ride We aren't able to race the 36ONE MTB Challenge on Friday 24th April due to the COVID-19 lockdown but we can ride the v361 Ultra on Zwift instead ... and do it for a cause. So on Friday 24th April 3pm we will set off on our indoor trainers to complete 361kms and see who finished first in support of SA Harvest. So the basic rules: • RACE takes place on 24th April at 3pm and you have time to complete the 361km until Sunday 3am. • 5 x Pretzel Route on Zwift (361km and 6600m ascent) – start point to be finalized, will confirm • Checkpoint at every 50km’s – simply capture your time at that point into an online form which everyone will have access to view • Everyone has to have (v360km+) behind their names on Zwift • The guys racing must submit weight (picture of weight on scale) – without that, there’s no result • Registration process will be online – which will be open to view (so you know who to target!) • Everyone racing on in-game mountain bikes • Category to separate smart trainers/power meters and dumb trainers We may add to the above list, but for now that’s the approach! Knowing WHY you are riding can be a massive motivator to finish an Ultra event. So how about we ride for a cause to get us through those dark witching hours, knowing our pedal strokes are doing more than moving us forward (even though we’re going nowhere ). COVID-19 has stopped us from being in Oudtshoorn, so why don’t we ride for a C19 cause? Hunger is becoming a bigger problem. NGO’s like SA Harvest are doing good work in distributing food and parcels nationwide, but they need more support! Zwift tracks our calories burnt in pizza slices, so I propose that we pay forward our calories burnt by raising funds for SA Harvest, earning “pizza slices” for those who are hungry! A backabuddy campaign is already up and running to support: https://www.backabuddy.co.za/v361-ultra For more info and to join the whatsapp group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/FmKNsScnOKmDErowHKCE0F (Ask Dion or Aiden, the organizers for more info) Online form to be completed: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfN6nff9CsKppYq206mw9u2nxyOxYXza0Jyjgxgmv0nHIo8dg/viewform?usp=sf_link Go to Event Page
  11. We've actually checked up Bains..his HR sits at 115 while I'm at around 150.. strong buggar!
  12. Haha yes that Basso of his is a beaut!!
  13. Bainskloof Up n Over and back. Troop of around 50 baboons held us up a bit. The only upside about this virus is the lack of traffic, just three cars passing the entire ride..
  14. Aren't we suppose to start the 23 week training plan this week??! [emoji2955]

  16. A mate of mine decided to do the Gravel Travel 50km after two weeks of cycling. He finished dead last hours after everyone, but at least had the sense of humor left to post a pic on Strava of his vehicle parked all alone on that big open field with not another soul in sight.
  17. The first e-bike caught up to us A riders at around 20-25km on that steep rocky climb almost at the top of Boschendal. We were all slogging up that hill when he came flying up at speed zigzagging through us, and then he lost control going UPHILL! He had to dismount to avoid going into the bushes..I litterally laughed in his face, he deserved that! He eventually disappeared into the distance up that climb only to be caught again on the singletrack where he couldn't make the corners without walking around them for some reason.. the enitre race it went like that, he would pass us with a moerse spoed uphill, and then he'd hold us up or we'd pass him again going down singletracks again. Before this race I didn't care about e-bikes at races, but after Saturday I do.
  18. How can I love this comment? A "like" is not enough!
  19. It was more like 1400m-1500m.
  20. I had a horrible day in the saddle. Pedalstriked a rock not even 5km in, pedal broke, couldn't clip in my left foot for the rest of the race(Yes, should've listened to Rouxtjie)..compensated with right leg and felt the strain later in my lower back. Tried new Hammer Nutrition peanutbutter gels today(rookie mistake testing new nutrition on race day!), puked at waterpoint 3, had to run to the toilet at waterpoint 4, and started cramping up badly from 48km to the end. Ended up doing 3h50ish.. Regarding route technicality that I was a bit worried about: turns out they changed the route slightly from the one they advertised and cut out the more technical stuff..it was still a pretty fun route with a bit of everything.
  21. It didn't.
  22. This wind should cool us down a bit [emoji15]
  23. In AL, but think I'm dropping back, or starting at the back of AL..still nursing the knee injury
  24. Seeding should be out within the next few hours..
  25. You can also have a look at the Winelands Trails website.. our anual membership includes all the Boschendal and Banhoek trails (basically The MTB Challenge route) plus loads of other trails and they're constantly adding more trails to the list we can ride with the magic blue board.
