  1. Nope, they're not doing SCT this weekend.. he just said now they're on their way to Gabon to start the UCI 2.1 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Tour on Monday.
  2. Aren't they focusing solely on MTB'ing now?
  3. I was rooting for HB Kruger from ProTouch, but I see they're still away on training camp..not sure if they'll be back for the event.
  4. I'm spotting a vertical shock..so not entirely the geometry of the Lux
  5. A bit like the Canyon Lux
  6. Phil Buys just posted this sneaky-sneaky of his and Mathys's new bikes on Strava..
  7. I'm in 1A and pretty sure the Savages in 2A is going to catch me before the top of Helshoogte!
  8. That's around 5w/kg.. so at 86kg you'd need to push 430 Watts..for 10mins.. Ouch!
  9. Still too early to be accurate, but it does look better than a few days ago: Ride forecast for 19 Jan 2020 06:00: Temperature: 16,71 °C to 21,78 °C, feels like 16,71 °C to 21,78 °CWind: 11,7 to 17,0 km/h, with gusts up to 27,2 km/hProbability of precipitation: 0%
  10. Ouch!
  11. Doesn't that weaken the % bunch then? 1A only starts a minute behind them..should be able to catch and merge quite quickly?
  12. Jip top result will count if still within 6 months, so your Sportive #7 will count. 1A for me. How does this seeding groups compare to CTCT? If I'm 1A here, can I expect to be 1A there as well, or more like 1D at CTCT?
  13. Oh ja, I fully agree with you there! Still making the call the morning before the race isn't quite "racing what's in front of you".. It sounded like you meant it like you'd pitch up with your kortbroek en plakkies no matter if it's raining outside. Six days ahead will never be accurate, two days still not but at least closer, but what would we talk about here on the forum if we can't speculate a bit over the weather?
  14. You have to consider the wind if you want to run 50mm deep sections or more. If it's going to be strong gusty cross winds you are going to be a danger to yourself and the guys around you in your group. Especially in my case where I've had the new wheels for only a week with around 5 rides. Only one of those rides were in the wind that felt a bit dodgy, like a kite, going over 50kmh on the donwhills, and on the flats when it's gusting crosswind. In a group I would've taken out the guy next to me. So no, you can't just race what's in front of you. Especially on the road. On a MTB you race what's in front of you come rain, hail, wind or sunshine (Like the 2019 K2C).
  15. Agg come on man! Please no wind, I want to race on my new pretty wheels!
  16. Also don't forget to budget for the Zwift monthly subscription fee of R241,96. And make sure your wife doesn't get into Zwifting because then it becomes x2....
  17. I picked up quite a lot, like 5kgs! If I could just make it over Helshoogte with my bunch, those extra 5kgs will be my friend all the way down to Boschenmeer
  18. Ready for the August! Got my first roadbike around a month ago, and the wheels today..they just keep on rolling forever!
  19. Might be able to help with seatpost, handlebar and maybe a stem.. but only back in Paarl on the 6th of Jan.
  20. If it's raining so hard that the coal gets wet, I ain't riding outside!
  21. Anton, while you are here, I have a Scott Spark and Scott Addict (and maybe a Scale as well) that needs some love in the new year.. Can we work out some kind of bogus double deal discount for a returning customer? [emoji12]
  22. Every morning... and still not sick of the scenery!
  23. Had a great time! The new route is basically 80% in the forest now..It takes on a whole different vibe in the forest when it gets dark and you only have your little spot of light to follow on the singletracks through the trees..The rock garden suddenly turns into a boulder park! Certainly kicks the adrenaline levels up a gear or two in the dark! Trying to post a few pics but have no idea how to do it on an event page...
  24. Guess I won't be getting my new carbon wheelset in time for Christmas then....
