  1. Yes, they are one of the best bike shops in KZN. Situated in Hillcrest.
  2. My mate and I did it in July last year. Weather was great! We parked at Citrusdal Country Lodge and rode from there clockwise. We stayed at the Lodge at the end of the trip. First night we stayed at Kromrivier. They have a restaurant that closes at 5pm-ish but you have enough time to get there. Night 2 we stayed at Boplaas Guesthouse. We ordered dinner through them ahead of time. Day 3, over the pass and down to Citrusdal where we finished at the Lodge and spent the night there. Next time I'd try do it in 2 days and not 3. You're welcome to inbox me for more info. It is surprisingly rural, so take enough food. Not a lot of places on the route. Peace and solitude.
  3. I think you need to lay off whatever boom you are smoking.
  4. I'm loving all the legal experts without law degrees... allow me to politely clarify: He's been found *guilty* of all charges relating to grooming and sexual misconduct in a civil setting (i.e. on a balance of probabilities he is probably a sex offender and guilty of all civil charges). This was following an extensive process where he was represented by lawyers throughout, including an appeal process. Bester is not a victim here! He has been found guilty whether you like it or not. Whether the SAPS / NPA charges and convicts him of his crimes in a criminal court, with potential jail time, remains to be seen. But that is totally irrelevant to what I have stated above. Completely different processes! I applaud CSA for the openness and transparency!
  5. I didn't say I didn't like it...
  6. This is starting to sound like a dating site
  7. I have a 1 x 11 10t to 50t Garbaruk cassette and derailleur. 38t up front. Love it.
  8. Here is a carbon 1x11 Scott hardtail going for R10k asking price: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2033341837027413/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  9. Thanks very much for all the feedback gents. We are going in July as we are from KZN and will be in the Cape for another event. We are extending our stay by a few days to do the Cederberg Circuit. We'll need to take all weather gear I guess.
  10. My mate and I are bike packing the 250km Cederberg Circuit, over 3 days (approx. 80 km per day) in mid July 2023. Can anyone pls recommend *catered* accommodation en route? Most places seem to be self-catering. On day 1 in particular we need catered accommodation about 80km to 100km from Citrusdal. Thanks in advance.
  11. Have had terrible service on a new unit which was faulty. I will try Wahoo next time.
  12. I have been waiting a week now for a quote so I can place an order... the wheels are coming off with Bike Addict it seems. Was good while it lasted.
  13. Fair play - they admit wrong, apologise and promise to do better. Good response from them. Can't really ask for more.

    Amashova 2022

Amashova is turning into a gravel / MTB race
  15. I think Admin should plug the hole that this thread has become. Put a seal on this discussion.
  16. With the exception of their bibshorts, which in my experience are worth every penny, their stuff is definitely overpriced. R4000 for a shirt, with no real benefit over other brands, is just silly.
  17. One would expect Momsen to respond here and to inspect the bike and take care of the issue.
  18. When will they be taking over? I really wish I could see and try on Lake shoes before buying.

    Squirt Lube

Squirt lube has given me sticky chain links which don't move freely as designed. I no longer use it.
  20. Lots of laywers on here without law degrees.
  21. They also had LOTS of warning given covid hit our shores in March and TB was originally in August. They were not taken by surprise.
  22. It is also illegal. People seem to miss this. Did we agree to T's and C's allowing them to not refund in these circumstances? If not then they must refund us and cannot refuse to do so. If the terms are hidden somewhere then the CPA applies if not pointed out.
  23. Covid hit in March 2020. TB was originally scheduled for late August 2020. If they incurred their costs before they belately postponed that is a result of bad planning by Ecobound. I have found them to be unprofessional in this process. Their approach of "no refunds" at this stage is unlawful because there is no clause in any T's and C's agreed to by riders allowing them to do so. The problem is it is not worth suing them for your entry fee. Bad planning and a greedy approach means the riders get screwed while they make their buck without putting on an event. How could they be so foolish to open the 2021 entries before holding the 2020 event? Now there will be little room for transfers (plus an undisclosed "admin fee") to 2021. Once again they make sure the riders take the loss while they smile at their profit.
  24. TB is not the same as Epic or IM. It is not a comparison that one should make in order to reason that TB will also cancel. Epic, for example, involves international athletes flying in, large race villages over almost 2 weeks etc. TB is 1 day and involves a crowd only on the start line. Other than that, everything else is manageable. Many other events have gone ahead recently, with no issues. In my view the event should go ahead as planned, unless the Govt prohibits it. There are those with gripes as there always will be. Suck it up. Times are tough. I have entered the Repeat and plan to be on the start line on 30 Jan. Looking forward to it.
