I did the route with some friends earlier this year. It’s one of the best routes I’ve seen. Graaf-Reneit is bloody far but we’ll worth the mission.
Looking at doing a ride out to Melkbos from town tomorrow.
Anyone know if that bike path is ok for a road bike?
Did this loop earlier this year with a little crew, could be the best gravel route on the race calendar. Keen for a big weekend in Graaf-Reinet.

just thinking it might be nice/essential to change into something warm and dry as soon after the race as possible, especially if folks are going to be hanging around at the finish.

38c should be fine. There’s a rough section between 35-45km that might rattle you a bit but 38c should be good for 95% of the route.
42 will probably be the safest choice.
This was such a gnarly race. Massive respect to everyone that took it on. The dual up front was amazing to follow.

They're available at the OSCS Clubhouse in Sea Point, Cape Town.

It's such a bummer. Zach really loved this bike.
He's ok. Apparently the black Chrysler Voyager was tailing him for a while before swerving into his back wheel and knocking him to the ground. 3 guys jumped out an beat him pretty hard while the driver stayed in the car. Apparently they struck him over the head with a brick and kicked him on the ground a couple of times. Luckily his helmet took most of the blows. Really hope the bike pops up and these guys are caught.
