  1. Hi Ebbe, welcome to The Hub, I am a Thule dealer based in Durban - The strap-on Thule rack does work to a point but Thule doesnt recomend it on a vehicle with a boot spoiler. I am sure the Golf 6 would have such a spoiler (Boot or Roof) The cheapest option is to put a tow bar WITHOUT the electronics (just the ball) and then buy a 2,3 or 4 bike Thule hang on. No electronics needs for these bike rack models - Send me a private message and I can give you prices. The roof rack option is also good option except it comes with the danger of forgetting about your bike and driving into your garage !!!
  2. its often a time thing - In KZN ROAG events the entrys close on a Wednesday and there is not enough time to still print the t-shirts in time for the event on the weekend so the organisers kinds of wing it and guess the size ratio
  3. Awesome buy for 45K !

  7. Just move to KZN , this morning was a VERY COLD morning and we just got to single digits - 9 degrees when I got up, we still ride at 4.15 AM no sweat ! Arm warmers and long gloves only - not long leggings needed - The more hardcore guys still dont wear gloves
  8. You go to www.saactive.com and click on claim discovery point Simple
  9. Cytomax rules - Go grape is the best flavour used it for years now. Train on water if the ride is less than 3 hours otherwise - 1 bottle water and 1 bottle cytomax !!! Tried 32Gi and it did nothing for me...
  10. I had a simular problem about a year and a half ago. My Trek 9.9 top fuel broken on the carbon weld the holds the rear shock onto the frame (before the EVO connection)and sent me flying over the bars at 30kms an hour. The bike was sent back to Trek USA via Cycle Lab and Trek acknowledge it to be a factory fault and that was abour 2 weeks later - I waited about another month for the warantee frame from to come from the USA. I was given the new then 2009 frame which was a bonus but the whole exercise took about 6 weeks. Happy waiting

    rocket ron

I had the exact same problem with Rocket Rons - apparently they are not true tubeless tyres rather tubless ready - what ever the difference is ? but apparently they will eventually seal you just have to give them time. I gave up and changed them to Lustys.
  12. Take your bike to Good 2 Go - pay the small fee for them to clean it and check all the working parts are in order !

There are 4 or 5 power meters available - each have pros and cons. SRM or The "Rolls Royce" of power meter - it is fitted in the crank - expect to pay between 20 & 30K - biggest advantage is that you can change wheels and not effect the meter. Disadvantage is the price. Power Tap - The most popular in my opinion of all power meters. Expect to pay new around 15K (I think)- the power meter sits in the rear hub. Disavantage if you have race wheels then you need two powertap hubs. Also limited to what wheels that are compatable with - my Bora dont work with a power tap. Polar Power Meter - More affordable about 6K - but there are questions of how accurate the meter is and I know of a few people that cant get it to work at all or only works when it wants to. Sit on the back chain so wheels etc easy to change. IBike Pro 3rd Gen - Works differently to other meters in that it measure the wind verlocity rather than the power out put. Again accuracy is a question - Price about 5K - I am currently trying the IBike out - have used it twice so its hard to give feed back. Meter sits on the stem thus changing wheels etc is not a problem. Ergomo - I have one in the cupboard if anyone wants to buy it. Great meter - sits in the BB but I changed from record 10 spd to 11 spd and wanted to ride compact crank. Cant do that with this meter. I am not sure if the company (German) is still around or not. For me the best "dash board" of all the power meters. Everything is available at all times EG IF, TSS, AVE Power ETC. Hope this helps
  14. I ride super record with a Cervelo Soloist, your problem is more than likely in the setup of the groupset. As it is 11 speed it is quiet difficult to get 100 % right but when you get the set up spot on it will ride like a dream. My bike went back a few times before my LBS got it right.
  15. Does anyone know if SRM power meters do a 11 speed Campy Compact crank system - my LBS has mailed 'Activeworx' the local agents and they are of the opinion that you can't run compact cranks with a 11 speed campy SRM system (FSA Cranks) This is the reply back from Activeworx - "Thanks for your enquiry with regards to SRM Training Systems. Find attached above more technical data and see below the specs and the prices of the FSA SRM systems which fill fit on his bike. Because he has a 11 speed , SRM recommends that he use the 10 speed chainrings which is a 53/39T chainrings. The compact 50/34T chainrings wont work so well with a 11 speed. " If find this very difficult to believe.
  16. This is a very delicate situation in a way - If you want something done about it then phone the sponsers IE House of Paints and complain and I am sure Mr Edwards will get into trouble from HOP but where it gets delicate is the fact that we need all the financial support we can get especially when it comes to road cycling and this wont sit well with HOP. The last thing cycling needs is to loose another sponser. I know the stretch of road you are talking about and cycling is deffinatly NOT allowed there. I often see the "team leader" riding on the streets of Durban without a helmet as usual setting a good example!
  17. The Sappi forest in Howick also has plenty awesome trail - everything from the begginer to as technical as it gets you will find there. There is no cost to ride there but you have to sign an indemnity form at the howick hospital.
  18. I got on now - still not released !!! This is FIFA for you - a joke !
  19. I managed to get on this AM but there were no tickets available for any of the games in Durban

  21. Hi Guy, I own a screen printing company in DBN, I can assist you if you like - I dont have the time to take orders etc but if someone wants to do that, and you give me a price point - I can source and print the shirts We do work for Woolies / Ackermans / Edgars ETC so you wont have an issue with the print comming off. In terms of artwork I am open to idea's we do have full time graphic designers that can also come up with something provided we are given some direction. In terms of cost - you can get a really nice t-shirt for arround R50-00 all in 165 gram carded cotton made by Barron If anyone wants to drive this let me know and I am happy to assist but as I said I dont have the time to get the order together , chase money etc
