  1. I have a Merida frame as well, with the shock in the same position, and I can't reach the shock to adjust it while riding - have to stop to reach it, which gets a bit irritating sometimes. Other than that, I love my bike
  2. Where is Gnarly? He has a hectically pimped bike!
  3. I'm 1,7m tall and find that I fit fine onto a small men's frame. When I was buying my bike, the gentleman explained very nicely that women generally have longer legs than men (proportionately), and that our torso's are shorter. The WSD should accommodate a shorter torso.
  4. I was in Pearly Beach this weekend. I would have popped in to check this out if I had known. I took a ride from Pearly to Elim - quite a nice scenic ride, with two STEEP hills!
  5. That is the plan' date=' white rims, black spokes, white hubs. All DT Swiss. Or Red rims, black spokes, Black hubs. DT aswell. [/quote'] Does Mrs. Gnarly know about these plans? Hell NO!!!!! But she does know about the 2010 Epic entry.... . mmm...maybe I can get something out of this as well
  6. That is the plan' date=' white rims, black spokes, white hubs. All DT Swiss. Or Red rims, black spokes, Black hubs. DT aswell. [/quote'] Does Mrs. Gnarly know about these plans?
  7. Is that on the black helmet? I believe Lance is wearing a black helmet. The black helment (that Lance is wearing) is for LiveStrong - on the black helmet. Did you guys know Lance was wearing a black helmet, different from his Astana team mates?
  8. f**k... tell me about it. I opened the July issue of bicycling this month. that stupid plonker has taken up about 75% of an already crappy mag Well that serves you right for spending money on bicyling magazine. What is the headline story? Climb like Lance in 4 weeks?
  9. So is this dog ever going to get a name, or are the suggestions just going to run over 6 pages?
  10. Kinda on the same topic, on the way to the race on Sunday morning, a cyclist ran a red light and was knocked over. Hope he doesn't blame the "stupid motorist" for his broken bike. For the record, he was wearing a helmet
  11. You aren't allowed to ride up the hill. The Outriders joined the conservation group, and they are permitted 4 riders per year. More info on www.theoutriders.co.za
  12. Ok, so the weather didn't exactly play along with us on Tuesday, so we have managed to arrange access for Saturday 20 June. All the ride details stay exactly the same, beside the date change to Saturday.
  13. I'll send you photos
  14. We know some people who know some people . We have exclusive cyclist access, and have been permitted 4 rides a year. The first of which is tomorrow, so here's hoping the weather plays along!
  15. The Outriders has recently joined the Friends of the Blaauwberg Conservation Area (BCA), which falls along the West Coast. The historic Blouberg (Blue Mountain / Blouberg Hill) is part of the conservation area, which extends from the Atlantic Ocean between Bloubergstrand and Melkbosstrand eastwards over the Blouberg down to plains east of the hill. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The Friends of BCA is a non-profit organisation. They depend on membership fees to cover the costs of running such an organisation (this is not high, but there are costs to be covered). Members are not only the eyes and ears to warn the managing authorities of activities or threats that could harm the BCA, those that are still active can contribute to the management of the conservation area by joining hack groups, etc. So, as proud new members of the Friends of BCA, we have been granted permission to cycle up the Blouberg Hill, which is not open to the public. This is an exclusive cycling opportunity that the club has contributed towards on our. For this reason, the ride is essentially for paid up Outrider Members only. NON MEMBERS WILL HAVE TO PAY R30.00. Ride details are as follows: Date: Saturday 29 June Option 1: +- 40km leaving from the Total Garage on the West Coast Road at 8h00 Option 2: ? +- 60 km leaving from Lifecycle at 7h30 The plan is for the Option 1 riders to meet up with the Option 2 riders at the Total Garage. The full group will then continue out on the West Coast Road and turn onto the N7 link, up to the Morning Star turnoff, which is where the begins. We then start the ride at the back of and up the Blouberg Hill. The terrain isn?t that technical and the sand will generally be quite hard (there is a 3km detour in soft sand if you are feeling strong at that point). Once at the top, we will obviously catch our breath and admire the exclusive view, before we head back down to coffee at the Total Garage Farm House. Please feel free to drop me a line if you would like any more info, or are keen to join. Mrs CMrs Colonel2009-06-18 01:34:29

  17. I'm almost sure I have something else that I just HAVE to do on Thurs evening...just can't remember what it is at the moment
  18. I even arranged a light...but I'm so damn unbelievably busy at work at the moment...taking 14 seconds to quickly look at the hub. Hopefully I will be able to live life again after Thursday and maybe join this ride one week! I suppose I probably also need to do some speed work before hooking up with your race snakes. Have FUN!
  19. Too late But I must admit that the pink wheels are very pink! Looks like lotsa cleaning
  20. So, what's wrong with that??? I like being a girl!
  21. I must say...this does interest me...BUT...I'm fall all over that place in the day, so I'm quite scared of doing it at night. I will definately come out looking worse for wear
