    Lumos Ultra

I've been using a Lumos Helmetfor the over 4 years and can really recommend it. It's a innovative helmet with built in LED lighting including indicators! Check out their latest helmet, the Lumos Ultra, on Kickstarter.
  2. Has anyone used http://www.nighttrans.co.za/ Nighttrans before? How was your experience? Bike safe and secure? Would you recommend?
  3. Thanks for everyone's responses. I ended up using Pratley Steel Quickset to fill the hole and the eroded area around the hole and then stuck some duct tape over it. I use Stan's sealant. BAZA mentioned Gorilla tape instead of duct tape. How so?
  4. So this thing happened around the valve hole on both Shimano Deore XT tubeless ready rims on one of my bikes. It seems there was erosion around the valve hole leaving a bigger hole. I discovered this while stripping and cleaning my wheels and rims after I kept getting random flats for no reason. There was quite a build up of sealant that used to plug the hole. Any ideas on how to fix this?
  5. Arrived a bit late for the Circle D meetup, but found a bunch of iTeamers in the chutes. Vincent and I think Cobus(?) and sorry I can't remember the rest's names. There was a larger group a bit further back, but a we moved to the start I lost track of where everyone was. Vincent and the guys started a smaller group that worked well together. I had to maintain momentum up the hills and unfortunately formed gaps. We rode halfway onto M1 and joined a larger group. After that I lost track of the group (around 30km in), but caught up with some other iTeamers (Dominique) and another along the route. From there on I tried riding with other groups where I could. This was my first time riding in a group and there's a bit of a learning curve. I did enjoy the camaraderie amongst everone. There was a great vibe even though everything didn't work out 100%. I achieved my goal setting a PB of 03:12:39, improving last year's time by around 29 minutes. Thanks to tombeej for this initiative, hope you're back on the bike soon.
  6. Although I may have joined late, I read all the posts. I particularly liked this one by tombeej https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/155156-the-i-team-947/page-18?do=findComment&comment=2747503 . Of course the target is 3h00, but it's also to help everyone and have fun at it. Looking forward to tomorrow! See everyone at Circle D @ 6am! Have a good rest tonight!
  7. Remember, the point of the group is to help everyone succeed in setting a good time, not to do a sub 3.
  8. Anybody willing to drop me off somewhere along the route (Maxwell/Allandale near Cut Off A) if we don't make it back in time to start a second lap? Edit: Never mind, I see Caracal > Zinnia > Main > R55 is just a 6km ride form the finish.
  9. Ride singlespeed, less mechanicals.
  10. PB 3:40 - 2014 947 (Singlespeed)
  11. I'd like to join the iTeam. Only problem is that I'll be riding SS and might fall off rather soon. But I'll keep up as far as I can. If I can get anywhere close to 3h15 even, the I'll be able to join wifey on her first 947 for lap 2.
  12. I realize this reply is months late, but for the benefit of others, Noakes recommends a fasting day if you get stuck on a weight. Apparently it boosts your metabolism and starts the weight-loss process again. Something like that. Have dinner. Sleep. Take a Bulletproof Coffee in the morning and tee, coffee, water throughout the next day until dinner again.
  13. High5 Zero or a glass of water with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of lemon juice
  14. I ordered the cynaps ones. they are't too expensive. will let you know when i get them.
  15. Check out https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cynaps-bluetooth-bone-conduction-headset-in-a-hat
  16. I'm shopping for a 29er carbon ht. Have a 26er ds. Dual sussers are more comfortable, but expensive to maintain. Best is to buy one of everything or get a rigid fork hardtail. no shocks to service.
  17. I use Titan Isomax. Get it at Chrome Supplements.
  18. I usually take half a serving of Titan Isomax Chocolate flavor mixed with 150ml milk, 100ml water, a double shot of espresso and ice after a workout. Great mocha shake. It is very low carbs and I believe it's a good quality protein. It's expensive at R759 for 2kg, but it lasts me pretty long. http://www.chromeshop.co.za/titan-labs-isomax-2kg.html
  19. I really think Backtracker is an awesome product, however with the price point at R2,125, I can't see myself buying it any time soon. Have you considered selling the back light unit separately form the front unit? Perhaps reducing costs even further by removing the bluetooth and instead adding audible feedback to the light? Just some thoughts.
  20. I think it's great that it was designed is South Africa. The price point is quite high though and there only seems to be free shipping to the US. Whoot?

  22. Hi, Just want to find out at which LBS you got these and how thick they are (what size stem they fit)? Regards, Werner
