  1. Seconding the Pirelli Rc lite, super tyres, very grippy and so far super reliable with 120 tpi sidewalls. Light weight and tread design rolls super nicely. Best of all in my book is they are available on takealot so you can use ebucks. The 2.4 inch for sure, get your pressure right using AXS tyre pressure and they are great!
  2. What do we think is going on here? Looks like the new transmission GX but mounted on a hanger, obviously defeats the axel mounting exercise, but at least makes it backwards compatible, so is an adapter or different derailleur design? Also if it’s an adapter does it mess with shifting?
  3. Just reported another add with this profile as a scam to FB. Trying to ‘sell’ XT components as XTR for cheap, same shpiel, immigration sale etc.
  4. I get along very well with the Rudy projects and their inserts. Works well, photochromic for mtb and normal for road bike. Would recommend, actually I’m currently waiting for a set of inserts for a new pair I just recently bought.
  5. Sounds a bit high to me, but there are a bunch of variables to take into account, ID of your rim, your weight, bike weight, tire dimensions etc. The sram app helps to narrow it down https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure
  6. Knipe Racing for the win!

Also noted the same earlier, was able to watch short track without any issues. Long may it continue.

I’m running from the newer to the latest Apple TV’s with a 75/75 fibre line and also struggling, having tested all 3 tv’s. I’ve done done the usual checks and my speeds are 100% and also restarted my network and routers to refresh as well. If I cannot solve it I’m cancelling my subscription. Any suggestions would be most welcome as no DSTV. The buffering and poor quality makes me want to rage quit…
  9. I would expect so, I got these from Knipe Racing in Durbanville, give them a shout, I’m sure they will be happy to inquire for you.
  10. One of the Russouw brothers is involved in manufacturing vertical racks in Paarl, looks like good stuff - Vertorack on FB
  11. Hey All Been following with interest, anyone have a source for the PTFE powder the dog murderer refers to in his video that is added to the melted wax?
  12. Yeah, that is my challenge, when the bikes are north of a 100k regular insurance seems to get quite heavy, like more expensive than my cars heavy somehow. Also, like you I can go for extended periods of time when one or the other bike is not used. Sounds like our wires are aligned 🤓. I find it part of my preflight checks to ensure that the bike is activate on the app before riding, so not had an issue yet. Although my wife was alarmed to come up stairs to find the front door wide open once after I left for a ride super early, so my forgetfulness seems to prioritise…
  13. You can schedule in the app when you want cover in place as well. So that helps if you are worried about forgetting to put it on for weekends etc
  14. I use JaSure, and while I have not yet needed to claim, have heard nothing but good things. Not sure if I am missing a trick, but the costs of running all risks through my current household and vehicles insurance is prohibitive to say the least. But I am covered under household contents if the bikes are stolen from the house. Then I activate the app for the respective bikes for all risks cover when out and about, which is significantly cheaper.
  15. I struggle to believe that a complete rebuild is necessary if all hub, freebody bearing are good and there is no play. Looks like a Dt Swiss hub, have you checked that is not the star ratchet? In the freebody?I know there were manufacturing defects there causing weird non engagement issues. Sometimes though, it’s the simplest explanations for things. I had a phantom scratching gearing type noise a while ago on my mtb, spent the whole ride trying to figure it out and coming up with all sorts of explanations and eventually managed to also recreate the noise consistently when turning right and under load. Finally when I got home and got a closer look, turns out it was it was the bike shield frame protector adhesive film that had come off the frame in the rear stay BB area and when pedalling under load the frame flexed and the lose film caught the outside knobs on the tyre. So maybe look out for something like that also?
  16. For 30mm ID, yeah would think so, unless it was specifically for that event. I do find the 2.4 already sits a bit narrower, presumably due to less material. They are significantly lighter than other tyres I would run for training, like 150 grams plus per tyre, so there is a significant rotational weight benefit. Makes you feel like you flying. Then the 2.4 allows for lower pressure of course, which is probably why they still feel so capable when things get a bit hairy.
  17. I’ve been running the Pirelli - Scorpion XC RC Lite Team Edition 2.4 Tyres for a while now. Ridden them at Banhoek Trailseeker, Stellenbosch and surrounds decent trails, super light weight, great rolling resistance and have performed really well across all kinds of terrain. I also run 30mm ID rims, best of all available on takealot. So have been buying them with ebucks. Bought another set as I like them so much. Highly recommend as they really seem to perform better than their tread pattern would make you think grip wise.
  18. I’ve never ridden there myself, but have heard that it is very good. I have tried to head out there but then discovered they have weird timings for when one can ride there, specific days and times. Which seems a bit odd, but it’s going to have to be next level amazing for a R250 buck entry. I see not even the Winelands regional board gets you in. So R700 for the race does seem rough. And given that I work for a large corporate, I guess I am the target market…
  19. Formula Cura X brakes. Titanium fittings, carbon levers, and Kevlar braided houses. All a growing boy needs to stop on a dime. Super confidence inspiring, there’s a reason these are so highly rated, even against 4 pots.
  20. How was the bike paid for? If card, you may have an option for a charge back.
  21. Also running them, as Lance stated, pads are critical, then the wheel is directional, so make sure the front is rotating the right way(it would be quite difficult to get the back wrong…). Lastly, if after bedding in a bit they still squeal try a bit of toe in on the pads, but should not be necessary. They will of course make a bit whining noise because of the serrated machined breaking surface. But not squeal like a stuck pig.
  22. Knipe Racing - the end…
  23. Cool vid! The guys not liking riding in bunches there? Or was that just the editing?
  24. I had a bad experience with GP5000’s perishing prematurely and a poor response from the local agents, so have been running Pirelli, with great results. So would recommend the P7 Pirelli’s for sure. Larger tyres, if your frame can cater are great as they provide more comfort at lower pressure for little sacrifice in terms of rolling resistance. But to really enjoy lower pressure you would need to consider tubeless, but given your use case, the P7 standard tyres for the win I would say.
