  1. I get it. Thanks for the reply
  2. Cool achievement but I don't really understand the reasoning... I get doing it on a SS seems tough etc but given the ratio you ran, it would've been harder to do it on a normal road bike. So why would you do it with this setup unless to make it as easy as possible? In which case, normal MTB gearing would've been even easier...
  3. Haha - that Dunlop Game helmet is about to be tested...
  4. Yip. Agreed. For us average Joes. But, given he's a seasoned pro and can probably handle a bike over this terrain in his sleep there's something to be said for less resistance vs fatigue etc... Something to consider too is that given the wider rims he'd be running, those 1.95s probably behave much the same as say, a 2.1 on rims 2 or 3 years ago. Interesting choice which ever way you look at it.
  5. The 1.95 tyres, combined with presumably wider rims than days gone by, actually make sense to me - given the particular circumstances.
  6. Retirement. Can't just go splashing out on expensive parts...
  7. Next - they need to work on the footage quality derived from this setup. What a waste of time if that video is anything to go by.
  8. Ariana... really? Copy and paste reporting strikes again. Well done to the ladies teams so far this year. So glad to see some competition. Whether the other ladies have caught up or whether the start changes have made a difference - either way, it's great to see!
  9. Two days in and the De Groot- Stenerhag "OMG - we can't believe we're winning" show is already getting old. You've trained to win. You want to win. You are winning. Well done. Now stop playing up to the media and just flippen ride.
  10. "Neither De Groot nor Stenerhag were aware they were riding into first spot." K@k, man.
  11. Many. Check out the CX, monstercross and Touring threads. Also have a look at MTBR.com for monstercross threads. Dirt drops, rigid fork (please don't run a suspension fork) and you're aces.
  12. Goodness. I'm not on this thread for a brief moment and this happens! I mean - a geared bike. No man!
  13. Very nice. Glad you're enjoying it!
  14. Personal preference. I've ridden risers and flats. Inverted just feels right for me. I'm telling myself that it's because they're on a 29r running and external headset. Being short, the inverted bars get my body position back down to the correct spot. Similar to running a 20deg invented stem I guess.
  15. 'Look rad' - there in lies the problem. It's about what works. Rise or drop, these bars where never intended to look rad. But they work. Well
  16. What I meant. Haha!
  17. 28.6mm nogal.
  18. FYI... On-One OG Bars available. 25deg back sweep 6deg up sweep. 38mm rise/ drop 33mm forward offset. 31.8mm clamp diameter. Same profile as a certain other bar we've been discussing. Alloy R900. Carbon R1500.
  19. Personally, I think the frame should go to Bogus for a colour code with the grips... #blingbling
  20. Very cool. But invert them to be proper cool The comfort factor on these types of bars only comes to the fore on longer rides where you start to appreciate your hands having been in a more natural position for the past x kms. This is the case for me anyway.
  21. Um...
  22. I will take them from you if you have. Force can be used.
  23. PM's re more info. I've ridden Ritchey, On-One and Ragley alternate bars and my Carnegies are the most comfortable bars I have but I cannot find a carbon version (they're even more scarce than the alu version) so these might be a good option...
