  1. This was in the latest cyclelab newsletter
  2. Voted... and before i vote 20 times, are these premium rated sms numbers or not? ie.. we paying R10 a sms kinda thing
  3. checked the structure of the tire when i got home, and its still in perfect condition, i think the tube was just old (put on gatorskins 300km ago, but didn't change the tubes), so new tubes this weekend it is!
  4. Incase you never received news letter
  5. Yeh got the same SMS, lucky for me i drive past the cyclelab fourways office everyday to get to my office, so not a huge issue for me.. They just sent an email newsletter aswell, now i have no problem fetching it, but when!?! Maybe for people like yourself steynja, they should still post, it would still cutdown from there R56000 postage bill per month
  6. What are the best tubes to put on my bike (700x23C)? I had a rear blowout at 45km/h on the emperors palace classic just before getting back to Carnival city (my first blowout) and im not keen on doing it again, it lost me a good 10minutes and I lost the group i was riding with, so in the end most likely cost me more then 10minutes! Also I see most road bikes use Presta valves... why? is there any harm in using Schrader valves, they are so much easier to inflate
  7. where is the "what the hell is a power balance" option in the vote?
  8. hahahaha at kich kis..
  9. im with Mutt! count me in Lets do it!
  10. Was pretty impressed this afternoon while driving home. Going down main road, just before witkoppen crossing there is a little shortcut that goes up to leslie i think it is, as i got there, there where 3 gentelman standing on side of road with a pretty decent black and white Giant MTB, as i pulled off SAP drove past, stopped them and was checking out the bike... atleast it looks like they are trying to do something about it Also just heard on the 4:30pm highveld news that "concerns that criminals are changing from luxury cars to bicycles after 4 attacks in the last two weeks"
  11. Big up to the marshals of the race, specially at the 100km odd mark then at the major intersection, wont lie, i was pretty grumpy to be stopped for so long (a good 2 minutes) as I had just had a blowout of my rear tube at 77km (never changed a tire so fast in my life!) and was trying to make time up, but hey it was done for safety and the marshals did not have any control over EMPD Time to go buy new tubes this weekend, not risking my front of about the same age to blow on Dischem
  12. it has been updated to 106km
  13. emailed my 2c to racetec!
  14. Agreed, the one section on particular was crazy, it wasnt even dodge the pothole, it was more like find a small piece of tar to stay on... i managed to survive that section and still get a rear tire blowout just before making it back to carnival city, ugh!
  15. I use a GPS application on my blackberry aswell as my Polar 725X, and my GPS gets 106.04km I hope they make the change on Racetec, because its showing the race as 97km, which will make a huge difference on average speed http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/display/1265555698-08836-P-41.247.123.159.png mercurystorm2010-02-07 10:16:45

  18. thanks for advice guys, will give the details reviews from page 1 on the 500 and 705 a good read and then decide, doing some further research seems the pricing is pretty similar... Edge 705, Heart Rate & Speed/Cadence - $549.99 (R4240 @ R7.71/$) Edge 705, Heart Rate & Speed/Cadence - R4499 - http://www.jump.co.za/compare/garmin-edge-705-hr-with-hrm-speed-cadence-sensor-basemap-2118.htm
  19. Just got an sms from cyclelab saying my licence has arrived, very efficient, maybe with MyRace almost loosing the contract, they improved there service radically
  20. Awesome CD that, loving it.. Cobra Starship - Good Girls Gone Bad Owl City - Fireflies mercurystorm2010-02-04 15:12:01
  21. Not sure if this is the right section, but just wanted to get the opinion of some people who have this if its worth purchasing? Im going to the USA in May, and the pricing there is alot cheaper then getting it locally, so considering getting it.. One of the features I really liked is the virtual training partner.. seems very cool to help improve your times
