So who do you see/ contact about a "aftermarket" frame then? Which have a good or bad reputation

Yeah, considering I waited for 6 weeks to get the wrong colour brakeset, parts missing and then I get a set of SLX rotor instead of XT as ordered. I was ready to hug the guy on the other end of the phone.

Not yet, placed the order Friday, and they leave today so he said I should have them Friday or Monday I even managed to get a Thompson seat post with the savings made

So after being horribly let down recently with the purchase of my new brakeset by a local supplier and the local agents not having stock. I was forced to look overseas for the brakeset I wanted. I checked all the usual suspects and they don't have stock, or the model I wanted. So step up Bike24 from Germany, not only did they have the stock I needed for all the parts, the salesmen took the time to call me on my mobile just to introduce himself and the company and to reassure me as to the status of my order, and as to when my parcel would arrive in Durban. I wasn't worried to begin with So if you can't source anything locally give them a try. The prices are as good if not better then CRC. I will certainly be using them more often.

So with the Xmas holidays fast approaching, I'm planning on driving down to Cape Town from Durban. I will be leaving on about the 22nd Dec via the Karoo, and then will be coming back up to Durban via the Garden Route around the 12th of Jan . I hopefully have not left it too late to secure some accomadation I'm thinking of taking two days to get down to Cape Town, but Im looking for somewhere to stop that I can also go for a bit of a ride. Then for the way back I'm gonna take possibly 4-6 days, with a stop at Jeffreys Bay for sure. I would like to also be able to stop a couple places and get some good trails in. I'll be driving by myself there and back, traveling with two bikes and a car full of stuff, so places to stay and ride need to be pretty safe and secure, I will be happy to camp on your lawn So I'm open to all suggestions and advice.
