Had a great ride:) for about 1hr45mins then the rear brake conked out on me, funny enough it conked out at the same place I stacked it - Doh. Ride was good, wasnt even feeling sketchy, although I had to slow down at the scene of the accident too access what happened - Speed hurts is all i could work out

It should be like why go SRAM as oppose to Shimano and vice versa.is one make better then the other, what are costs & performance like - I would be interested to now this too. Ive always gone with Shimano cause its what I know, I know of SRAM but dont know if its better or worse?

Maybe strap it up, and see how you go. If after a few km's its too painfull, give it up then, safe in the knowledge that you tried your best. As Mojoman said as well, it could cause problems later on though, so there is always next year. Maybe do that one thing youve been putting off for so long

While on the topic of hubs, can you buy Maverick hubs without getting a full wheelset - They seem pretty decent hubs:unsure: from what Ive read in product reviews, I stand to be corrected on this. Sorry for the thread hi - jack, may help you too though

Ive heard from two guys I sometimes ride with that the bearings are up too no good:unsure: , also my LBS & mechanic has said not the best, rather go with the Hope they have both said. Thats their opinions not mine - I have DT Swiss(rear) & Hope(front)

Just watched the "how its made " on dstv and how they make a carbon fibre hockey stick, the layers of carbon fibre are ironed together(with a household iron) with the weves goin g in differant directions then parralel and so forth, to get the desired thickness and presses together with a heated roller forcing out all airbubbles. it is the baked in a heated press to bond it all together after the shape of the stick head is cut out - What are the chances of that being explained today, lol Love these shows

More to do with where can he get the carbon fibre from:lol:, for himself. Easy to make the mould, make a mould of a bar thats already on the market, then reinforce more where needed
