AN advert for a bicycle frame featuring a naked woman with a hand over her boobs has been banned for bearing “no relevance” to the product. The magazine ad for triathlon accessories firm Triuk also features a small image of the bike frame next to the raven-haired beauty. It bears the tagline: “It all starts with great bodywork.” A reader of Cycling Plus complained that it was sexist and degrading to women. The Advertising Standards Authority has banned the ad. The watchdog ruled it was “likely to cause serious offence”. It added: “Although the image was not sexually explicit, it had sexual connotations. It bore no relevance to the advertised product.” But bosses at Somerset firm Triuk claimed the caption was “tongue-in-cheek” and the ad showed the “aesthetic features of the bicycle frame”.

Just got back from a ride with the new Specialized BG Gel gloves I got yesterday. They are full fingered as I usually ride with Fox short gloves for summer, and I can without a doubt say these things are the bomb , they are cool and super comfy. Certainly worth the money in my opinion.

Still get to play with Lego often, love the stuff. I even managed a trip to Legoland in the UK with one of my nephews, it was awesome All the kids going absolutely mental for the stuff, defintely worth taking the kids there if you can. I even got to drive in a Lego car.

You can do that. When the bug has really bitten, you may actually be looking at a new bike 2 months before W2W, lol. Its totally up to you, but it would be nice to upgrade now rather, if you can. You will certainly feel/ notice a massive difference in the bike with better wheels or fork.

Just check and make sure what model you are looking at. Possibly call the shop back to check.

Even if you budget say R3000 for a new fork or new wheels, there are some good deals around online at the sites I said to check.

Things like that can be upgraded along the way, just make sure that the bike you are looking at on that link has the same specs as the local version, you might just get a different saddle to the one in the link. They can also swop it out possibly if you do buy it.

If they do a good deal for you, maybe look at upgrading your wheelset or fork with something secondhand off the hub

Seems OK, It also only has 8 speed, not the greatest when you can now get 10 speed for mountain bikes nowdays.

I just checked with Dischem tonight, the starter pack is R220, and the next pack is also R220. I also checked with Clicks and they are also R220 for a starter pack. I need to get a prescription for it tomorrow, as they won't sell over the counter, its a Schedule 4 drug.

That doesn't seem to bad, maybe a bit overpriced. Please bear in mind people on Gumtree will generally try their luck at getting more then its actually worth, the same could be said about the hub, but guys will generally let the sellers know in the comments section of the advert if they are trying to really take the piss.

It aint sold till it says so, do you know anyone in KZN that could possibly have a look for you. It is an option, but there are others in the classifieds in the Western Cape area
