  1. I had the same problem. Not picking up my heart rate at all Changed the battery on the chest strap still giving mr hassles. Then unclipped the sensor on the strap turned it around. Bobs your uncle working 100%. Wasn't aware that it had to be clipped on only one way.....
  2. I picked up my Giant XTC yesterday......went through the same dilemma with the SEGMA as well. Decided to get the XTC spec it up with full XT for an extra R2000-00(trade with LBS). I just feel that the frame on the XTC is a far superior quality. And would rather upgrade the groupset and he wheels than upgrade a frame. Personal choice.....wheel will do at a later stage.
  3. Atraut, that is my dilemma as the old pockets are not deep enough at this stage..... I think at a later stage will upgrade both the 26er and 29er to X0 when the bank manager will let me in to his office again
  4. So what you guys are saying is that X9 comes standard with only two chain rings on the front and XT comes standard with three thus giving you more options on the gear ratio with XT? Mmm interesting do I back my legs to handle with only two chainrings....
  5. I am buying a new Giant XTC 29er. Not 100% happy with groupset that comes standard on the bike so have the option of upgrading. In my budget range I can either upgrade the groupset to Full XT 10 SPEED 2011 DYNA SYSYEM SRAM X9 I have XT on my 26er and am very happy but do not know too much about the SRAM X9. If it was in budget I would have opted for the SRAM X0,might do that at a later stage.... Dilemma!!
  6. Have ordered 4 different sizes so whatever doesn't fit will go on the hub....keep them eye's peeled in the classifieds.
  7. Good humour! Ok guess I am used to 3 days delivery from CRC. Any issues with the quality of the goods? Prices are extremely reasonable.
  8. Oh one more thing are VO2 max tablets as good as powerbalance bands?
  9. Thanks Guys!! The stuff is extremely expensive. Aim is to optimally perform not really to lose weight. Eating healthily but I was under impression that this stuff would give me MORE of an advantage. I think I am going to consult a sports dietician next time I am in the big smoke!

  11. Hi Hubbers, Please could I have opinions on various products on the market for sports nutrition. For the last six months I have been using USN products but have heard it is not considered to be the best or good for you at all. I consider myself to be a competitive cyclist and compete in both MTB marathons and road bike events so need as much help to keep ahead of the pack and for body recovery. Protein 2x a day(morning and night) Diet Fuel 2x a day(snacks in morning and afternoon) CLA tablets 2x a day. Cytopower when racing and VO2 max tablets.(I have heard 32GI is the heat at the moment) Recovermax after long races. Does this stuff work?? What about the million other brands and products on the market?? I do feel stronger on the bike and have lost weight but this might be due to increased training and the fact that I have lossed weight. All input from sports nutrition guru's would be appreciated
  12. We have all fallen during this excercise especially at robots!!,maybe get training wheels
  13. Agreed-reconsider,once you are converted then send out thread for best pedals....
  14. Ok Swiss 100% correct..... You can always buy a 105 GROUPSET off the hub and put it on the Giant
  15. I am a big Giant fan but if the Felt has a 105 groupset and the Giant a tiagra then go with The Felt.
  16. I have a Giant Anthem for two years now and have not had a problem with paint work. Cable rub is a managable issue and does start after your first long ride.So after 5 months if not protected it can get pretty hectic. I stand to be corrected but in the case of a warranty claim Dragons will only deal with the LBS and not straight to the public. If you want to buy a giant you have to go through one of there dealers. Time for your LBS to step up to the plate.
  17. Giant by a mile!!! Far more superior to the merida.
  18. I am going to humbly disagree..... The weight of XT is not why you buy XT in my opinion. XT is strong and very durable. After having LX DEORE before hand and breaking two RD,s and a couple of break levers I have benen riding XT for over a year and have not had a problem since so I believe it is worth the extra 2k.Maybe I should stop riding like a monkey Now XT to XTR is another argumenet all together....
  19. Edwin,if you are not going to ride that often then yes any one of these bikes have a reasonable spec. I liked the Silverback because of the higher spec on the deraillers and the drivetrain. On face value I think that Giant Anthem advertised is an awesome deal!! But as advised check it out properly... I ride giant so am a little biased. Have you looked at the price of the entry level giant anthem?
  20. Oh I meant the Silverback for 13.7k
  21. It all depends on what kind of riding you are going to do. The mistake I made is that I also spent about 12k on a bike not knowing that in 6 months I was going to be totally obsessed with MTB!!I have now spent a small fortune on upgrades when it would have ben easier and cheaper to buy a decent spec bike first time out. What is decent? Well it depends how obsessed you become and what you can sell to feed the obsession... If you can afford it I would look in the 20k dual suspension range. The extra 8k is definitly worth it and will save money in the long run. If you are just going to be a social once a week rider then the dual suspension silverback is good value for money. What I have said does not make sense now but if the bug bites you will understand.....
  22. 100%
  23. Don't worry about 5 year rubbish!! Two years maximum and something new and better will catch your eye and you will convince yourself that you are 100% sure you need a new frame/bike/groupset etc etc I am lucky if I last 6 months
  24. As mentioned normally caused by pinched nerve. Also check your saddle and make sure you have quality bib shorts for long rides. Move around in the saddle as much as possible. Pinched nerve in your rear end can make your hands go numb.
