  1. Cheers, will consider those too. Thanks
  2. Thanks, I've tried a very wide Butcher but that was on a mate's Levo, confident feeling tyre for sure! I see the DHF 2.5WT comes in at just under R900 with a quick online search, where did you get yours?
  3. Thanks, I see that looks like the price point for a lot of the higher end tyres. I don't mind upping my budget if that's the case. I'd rather buy right and buy once. I'll look at the Eliminator, thanks!
  4. Hi guys. Hoping someone can provide some insight, I'm sure many of you can chip in and have the knowledge. I'm looking for a more trail oriented MTB tyre. One which grips lekker for trails through Tokai, Jonkers, etc, but which wont kill me on the longer rides and slow me down with too much resistance. I tend to ride more trail but I also do a few 60km races just for the fun of it. The following should be considered: Budget R400-600. Willing to go higher if there's nothing viable in that price range.29 inch tyreTyre width: I don't really know what tyre width I need but presumably between 2.3-2.6 inches. I'm currently riding 2.2 inch width so looking forward to some more ground coverage. The MAXXIS Minions have come up with some research I've done, but my knowledge remains limited as I've never owned any real high end tyres. Thanks! Edit: "Budget R400-600. Willing to go higher if there's nothing viable in that price range."
  5. Woodstock Cycles might be able to do it quickly.
  6. Nope. Makrodales were from 2015.
  7. I think that route you mentioned is your best bet. M3 and De Waal isn't very forgiving when it comes to to riding and crossing over to the other side...
  8. If you're looking for more bass then then Sony's are probably what you're after. I have the Bose and thought the sound is great, the bass is rather suppressed.
  9. Has anyone ordered from Flook before?
  10. Anybody know why there is virtually no info about the makro Trail 5 29er online? The official 2016 Trail 5 seems to be a 27.5 only. Was there an update down the line for a specific market perhaps?
  11. Yes, Mediums only, he said they have around 25 units. Grabbed one this morning.
  12. Wow 30 years, that's amazing!
  13. Good to know, thank you.
  14. Thank you for the advice, really appreciate it. Will buy the 5. What do you mean by kit btw? And which upgrades would you suggest? I will definitely consider this if it's in any way beneficial.
  15. I am considering buying this Trail 5 as I would like to get into riding. I'd like to do easy to moderate trails, a few jumps here and there to get the heart racing.... Is this really not a bike you guys would suggest? I could also get this GT Avalanche bike for around R6000 brand new from someone I know: https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/gt-avalanche-sport-29er-mountain-bike?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzoTX-67W3QIVTbHtCh1fxwwIEAQYASABEgJz3vD_BwE Is it worth paying the extra R1500 or is it far too similar to the Cannondale in which I might as well go for?
  16. Isn't there only a 27.5 size in the Trail 5 2016 model? Unless I'm missing something and it is in fact a 27.5 which isn't consistent with the flyer. Just a heads up Edit: Called Makro and they advised both models are 29". Mmmmm different year model maybe?
