  1. Show us some pictures, I'm not quite sure what your trying to say or explain?
  2. will be interesting to see how SamL1220, Clinton-theCOW and Goodbadugly's Bikes turn out, they also got forks in the same shipment as me, I'm guessing at least one of them will build a single speed
  3. Just finished my first SS build over the weekend. 26" carbon rigid fork nice fat 2.3 bontrager front tire 32-15 gearing (its really flat where I've been riding her, can cruise comfortably aat around 21/22 km/h) and bits and bobs I got here and there First ride took some getting used to with the rigid, and thumb that kept wanting to tap a non existent shifter lol. all in all am really enjoying it.
  4. yes and it doesn't leave a oily residue behind that stop the brakes from working edit: spelling
  5. I'm guessing you don't own a pool or jacuzzi then
  6. If only I wasn't writing an exam the following Monday I'd be able to ride to the venue as a warm up its so close. any chance of a route map? and I take it there will be on the day entries? Might come do the race to scout for more training routes in the area, depending how my studying goes.
  7. What a beauty, hope you have many happy miles riding her hard lol
  8. If you know someone that can weld, a 6m length of square tubing should cost you about R50 odd (makes 3 stands minimum), then you've just got to paint it and stick a little piece of silicone tube on, to prevent it scratching your frame. All in all about R75 each max.
  9. Well I've just finished building myself a nice Gary Turner (aka GT) rigid single speed, with parts I got off hub at good prices over time, as well as some older items the LBS had that they wanted to get rid of at good prices. Maybe build yourself a bike (road or MTB your choice), and do everything from repainting it to putting it all together. Painting the frame was actually a lot easier then I thought it would be, and good fun doing all the design work etc, finish might not be as good as one of the pro's in industry but its more then good enough for myself
  10. what he said. just go to google maps in your browser and search "buy Nuts and Bolts", or look in your good old fashion phone book. its should list a bunch of outlets that sell them, just give the shop closest a call first to make sure they've got what your looking for in stock
  11. I think the issue is that most sellers, don't have the equipment to test things such as lumen and mAh. Them just like the end buyers, Buy the items from suppliers that claim the values advertised. I mean think of a big company like CRC, how many different products do they buy from how many different suppliers, imagine them trying to double check lumens, mAh, claimed **** sizes, component weights etc of every single item they sell? edit: I myself try test all the items I stock before selling to others whether its on my own bike or friends, but if I were to stock front bicycle lights tomorrow, I wouldn't know where to start with regards to testing lumen output or mAh
  12. Just be careful when pumping the tire to very high pressures over recommended values, once the tire pops of the rim, it tends to do it more easily in future, or at least that was the case when I did it by mistake a year back, it also leaves your ears ringing and a face full of latex that burns if it goes in your eyes
  13. You shouldn't use bombs, the CO2 (forms weak acid), affects the ammonia (base) that keeps the latex liquid, which can result in booger formation over time, you should rather use a floor pump or compressor, ad Bombs for race emergencies. have you done the whole shake the wheel and spin it thing? and are you sure its not leaking at either the valve or through one of the spoke holes? a bath of water should allow you to check the above.
  14. Sorry it took so long for your goods to get to you, I'm glad the second parcel got to you. Who knows maybe the other one will arrive somewhere down the line
  15. Hey Guys thank you for the positive feedback My store is an online site, I'm not one of the big players like CWC or buycycle, but I try. (if your in Pretoria your welcome to pop around and look at what I've got, you'll just need to arrange with me before hand) I started the site to see if I could make a little money to help pay for my studies and at the same time provide goods I can get my hands on at a good price. (buy direct from the manufacturers overseas) Well if anyone ever has any problems with their goods or wants to ask me a question, don't hesitate to pop me an e-mail or PM here on hub. Happy riding everyone Edit: seeing that I've got the chance for free advertising I've got some more goodies coming in hopefully early next week, will update the site as soon as they arrive.
  16. Only down side I've personally found with stans is that it makes boogers or rubber balls on the inside of my tires when the latex coagulates after about 2 or 3 months, but when it's not coagulated the stuff works pretty well. But then again I've had it with other sealants too And no I don't uses CO2 to inflate the tires, because that does affect the ammonia that helps keep the latex liquid, I guess one cant have a latex sealant that will always stay liquid and seal tires at the same time lol.
  17. I feel there is nothing wrong with having/ owning a firearm as long as one has done the proper training on how to use it, when I say that not just a course on firearm safety but also courses how to use it and in which situations
  18. its quite a nifty page to bookmark especially if your wanting to import cycling related goods, as final %'s are indicated after vat and all the other little percentages have been added
  19. here we go. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/75887-import-duties-on-cycling-goods/ specifically look at post 10 from minion, I think that might explain what your asking.
  20. Has no one got any feedback for these courses?
  21. Any hubbers done one of these courses and feedback? specifically the intermediate course?
  22. I know this is going to sound crazy. but send it with the post office, get a box from your LBS, wrap the frame up nicely and send it off standard parcel, it will take about 3 or 4 working days, had one sent from Durbs to me in Pretoria last month, cost me a whole R172 and cound be tracked online.
  23. I didn't think of that oops
  24. Thanks. going to try finish it off with other green goodies once I get there
