  4. I think we will just have to wait until next week to hear from the actual ministers and presidency what level 4 entails... All these different pdfs with different things on the different levels... Noone really knows. But I do hope I can go swim in the ocean next Saturday!

  6. Yeah that was Tom. He did it to raise money for covid 19 research. You can check out his Facebook page, Ironchallenge in lockdown. Definitely has bigger stones than me. I rode with him a bit on zwift while he was doing it, I couldn't imagine getting on a treadmill for 4 hours after that!
  7. I've traveled to and done races on my own, and I've done it with friends/family coming along. 100% if I had the option I would do it with friends/family coming along. It's just a much more enjoyable experience.

  10. On another note, I see a few complaints about deloittes today, front makes and females wrongly directed on the 21km, lack of water... Did anyone do it that can provide any more details?

  13. Sorry to all the guys who had put in the training. What about the guys who were gunning for a kona spot, do they get a defferal to a race before kona or is it just cheers, sorry, try again next year?

  15. My friends all PBd, but they have been putting in the effort, so not sure if it was the course [emoji1787]... Perfect weather conditions for running too on Sunday in Pmb. But yeah, great route.
  16. I did the sprint last year and I think I was more buggered after that then after any 70.3 I've done [emoji1787] red line from start line to finish is not fun!

One thing I've found is pool swimming destroys my goggles, they only last a couple of months before they start giving issues like leaking and fogging, due to virgin actives death levels of chlorine. So I have a set for training in the pool and then I have a pair that I use for open water/ races. No fogging or leaking on race day.

  21. Yeah I know a lot of guys over there, and even more that are keen for next year... I wouldn't be suprised if in 5 years EL doesn't have enough participation to warrant two 70. 3s in SA.

  23. Early breakfast before ride, coffee and English muffin with jam. Oats with peanut butter and raisins/banana after for main breakfast. Race days is coffee and 2 English muffins, one with peanut butter one with jam/honey. Sip on energy juice prior to race. At least 2 pit stops from breakfast table to start line, often 3 if it's a big race and there's nerves.

  25. A pair of road shoes will get you through it, bar any hectic mud and slippery conditions. If it's just dry trail you will manage...
