  1. ' Dale 42nd - 352 points. Cippo 23 rd - 382 points. Chasing hard bru, gap is closing. Two stages left.
  2. From letour website. Around the Arc-de-Triomphe "It's the final day, and it's going to be incomparable in the strictest sense because we really wanted to pay full tribute at the end of this 100th edition. From the sporting perspective, there shouldn't be too many surprises: it's difficult to imagine the sprinters missing out! And if that sprinter happens, for the fifth consecutive occasion, to be called Mark Cavendish, then that really would be an extraordinary exploit. From the celebratory point of view, we have an unforgettable route, which will start in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, pass the monument to Jacques Anquetil, then go through the courtyard of the Louvre, before turning not in front of but around the Arc de Triomphe. The finish will be at dusk, at around 9.45pm. It will be magical..."
  3. According to www.letour.fr the stage starts at 18:15. France is on the same timeline as SA. They going to ride in the dark all the way.
  4. First I hear of that, its only starting at 17:30 on SS214 and 206. Just tweeted them to ask what up with that.
  5. So I'm setting the PVR for Sunday and what do I discover that Le Tour will only be broadcast from 17:30. This means it will not be live. They would rather have EUFA Womens soccer on amongst other things instead of the tour. Is it too late to rally against DSTV again.
  6. Interesting combo on Saxo machines. Zipp 202 front, 303 back.
  7. Bile. You can pick a colour ( green, yellow, brown, bloodstained) and consistency.
  8. Did a search again on post office website on my parcel using UPU number from DHL and it was scanned this morning at Capemail Hub in Goodwood. Called them up to confirm parcel was there and then me not being able to wait for delivery on Monday to my post office, off I went to Goodwood, cash in hand to collect my parcel. I would definitely use Bike24 again especially if this is the service they deliver and if prices are right.
  9. So finally the parcel has cleared customs and was scanned by postal service at Jhb international mail center and is in transitto Cape Town. When you log onto www.dhl.de and you enter tracking number from bike24 you will look for a UPU code in parcel status. You can now use this code to enter at www.ems.sapo.co.za or contact post office call center at 0860111502.
  10. Alpe d'Huez certainly did not dissapoint today. Pity for TJ, great result for Quintana moving up to third now, watchout AC ( Quintana only 21 secs behind). Happy to see Andy in the break as well. Expecting big things from him next year.
  11. For anyone looking to buy or have bought from bike24.com, please add your experiences as this is mine. Everyone normally talks about CRC but I have found bike24 to be cheaper of late. Firstly they are in Germany, website and navigation very well laid out and a huge range of goods including outdoor and multisport. I finally took the plunge and ordered an item last week Thursday. Process was smooth and it calculates cost in Euro's. Prices on site are for EU customers but as soon as you go to checkout and you enter South Africa from drop down menu it removes EU tax. Postage via DHL is €19.99 depending on weight of parcel but all that is calculated. So by the Sunday the credit card company finally deducts the cost, I called them about this and they said its when the dealer banks the transaction. The funds though are reserved on your card from time of transaction. Monday morning early I get an email with a tracking number and directed to https://mobil.dhl.de/sendung?query=sv_paket to see progress on parcel. On mobile it will still be in German and on pc/Ipad it will be in English. The site will indicate progress of parcel and bu Monday evening my parcel was en route to SA. By late yesterday afternoon my parcel had landed in SA and was being prepared at customs. I have tried using parceltrack.co.za to see when it lands with good old post office or DHL to no avail. Will update here as to what happens with parcel as dhl.de advises on their site.

  13. Take it to LBS and see if you can't claim under warranty. Alternatively email Fizik to enquire. There are a few for sale in classifieds.
  14. Problem with the carbon railed saddles are most of them are oval 7x9mm so you need a specific clamp for your seatpost else you run the risk of damaging rail. I had to buy an oval clamp for my Ritchey seatpost to fit the carbon rail on my Antares.
  15. Is this the same for parcels from Germany? I have a tracking number for DHL Germany
  16. Complete Cyclist are retailers. They have a sale on 2012 framesets. What are you looking at buying. http://www.complete-cyclist.com/joburg-store.htm
  17. If you are using a 155mm at the moment an Airione might not suit you. Fizik works on a spine concept principle. Basically it depends how easy you can bend down to reach toes. If you are quite flexible you are termed a Snake so Airione is for you. Antares is for the less flexible Chameleon, and the Aliante is for the least flexible Bull. Test saddles are available from LBS to try out. Checkout http://www.fizik.it/en/saddles/
  18. Berto giving Nairo the thumbs up is playing mind games. Maybe he wants Sky to think there is an alliance. Froome will not let Berto go easily but if he sees Quintana as Berto's ally and he attacks is he going to let him go, hmmm?
  19. Normally it is allowed but I doubt teams will use it. Best to go with a standard bike, TT clip on bars, with light deep sections. TT bikes handle horribly and with the descents I would'nt think they gonna take chances.
  20. Was so hoping for Gilbert to take yesterday. I reckon Froome for the win today, Berto should do well also. TJ did well (won) in Tour of Cali in final mountain TT.
