  1. Lukewarm water with some salt and bicarb, sniff up and blow every morning. Burns a little but does the trick. I use Sinutab ND but go through a pack to really work over a day or so.
  2. Did you not have a Dogma 60.1? I'm surprised you traded.
  3. Gum guards and kidney belt I've been told.

I have a pair of their bibs with red shammy. Cant complain in the 100k rides but would consider something else like Assos Mille for longer rides. Grippers on legs are holding their shape and mostly use them for training. Like all bibs its how you maintain them which determines their durability. 2 things, wash in cold water in a laundry bag and no softener. In fact I wash all my kit that way. Laundry bags are cheap at PnP.
  6. From PPA newsletter, provisional calendar for Summer 2013, Summer 2013 events We are in the process of finalising the details for the Summer 2013 events – amongst others, the road works in the southern suburbs (Fish Hoek area) has meant that no events can go over Boyes Drive, Main Road around Kalk Bay, or Ou Kaapse Weg. As you can imagine, this has posed quite a challenge to the organisers. However, alternative solutions have been found, as follows: JANUARY 2013 Sun 6 Jan: Journey for Sight. New venue and route from Fish Hoek Sat 12 Jan: Potential new MTB trail opening in the Greyton area – watch this space Sun 20 Jan: Cyclelab funride – route and venue to be confirmed, but possibly in the Boland area Sun 27 Jan: Bouckaert-Soenen league, road and MTB funride. Usual route and venue in Paarl FEBRUARY 2013 Sat 2 Feb: Franschhoek Lion Porcupine MTB Challenge, Franschhoek Sun 3 Feb: Tour de PPA. New route and venue, Durbanville Sat 9 Feb: 99er Cycle Tour, Durbanville Sun 17 Feb: Medallion Tour de Stellenbosch. Usual route and venue, Stellenbosch Sat 23 Feb: Wellington Lions MTB (MTB only) Sun 24 Feb: to be confirmed – Bay City Cycle Tour MARCH 2013 Sat 2 March: Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Sun 3 March: Cape Argus Pick n Pay MTB Sun 10 March: Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour Sat 16 March: PPA Wacky Wheels Overnight Fun tour Sun 17 March: PPA Wacky Wheels Overnight Fun tour Information will be uploaded to the calendar section of this website as soon as possible.
  7. You can but they have to use something else. Sand leaves pitting marks on frame.
  8. Best bet is Foreshore via N1 , onto Lower Church then hop onto Albert road all the way down Voortrekker, over the bridge at Koeberg into Berkley and straight past abbatoir to Jan Smuts at Sunrise circle. I dont trust riding alone on Bmt from Church to Cbd. Alternately take Albert road past Hartleyvale, up Durban road and left into Raapenberg over N2 into Pinelands
  9. Stop, stop! Ek is 'n speedcop! Ek het 'n hoed op, dra 'n badge ook. Wish I could find and post that video now of Shuster.
  10. Be sure to wear baggies in Umhlanga, just in case.

  15. En kyk net waar is jy nou. All dikwiele eventually convert.
  16. If the wind stays NNW we will be riding into it from Pniel to Wellington and hopefully behind us from Wellington to Stellies. Wind is predicted to be under 10 knots.
  17. Hoekom. It's normally the other way around. Wish you all the luck.
  18. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope your wife heals and gets back on the bike.
  19. I'm more worried about the last stretch and if I'm gonna have the legs. Who else is gonna join me and Buzzman in E.
  20. Have you considered actually reporting it to the police. Just ask them to make a notation in their occurence book and get a reference. If that guy ends up in hospital later it's gonna come back to bite you in the ass. Cover your side of the incident. I may be overreacting but its a reality.
  21. Arnica oil is a good rub. Get the sachets then you can rub it in when you standing in chutes. Just keep some wet wipes at hand. You don't wanna be rubbing that stuff in your eyes or going to porta potty. Lol
  22. I enjoy the Old Hell's. I found sticking to the inside of road on Old Hell's makes it easier. The cold legs are in for a shock if you have not warmed up a little. Do some spinning before you get there as Wannabe suggested.
  23. With Vettel winning the F1 , 3rd time, I think I'm gonna keep one of those Red Bull shots in my back pocket.
