Why not try a natural diuretic at first and look at a lower salt intake diet. Was your blood pressure reading taken once off or was that reading you quoted an average? As far as your cholesterol also goes consider some supplements to lower that as well. Oats regularly as breakfast, Omega 3/6 supplements and garlic capsules daily have helped me keep my cholesterol below 4. I resorted to using Simvastatin for 3months once just to get it below 5 and then stuck to supplements ever since. Fennel tea with cinnamon and honey is also a regular drink.
