  1. We had a lekker trip up to Houtbay and back up Suikerbossie to warm up the stomach muscles for breakfast. Turnout was not as expected but that means we have to do it again. Thanks for DMC & son, LRW, Thomo for pitching. We managed two Bianchi's atleast. Thanks for the company guys.
  2. Stage winner Bruegill said to be skinny. 1.83m tall and only 60 odd kilogram.
  3. Congrats. Many happy s-miles. I see atleast you posted in the 'proper ' Bianchi thread, lol. We shall forgive you for wanting your own thread as the bike's lineage is worthy. Does it come in 'celeste'?
  4. Nog net een slapie. Stiek uit!!!
  5. 563g claimed for crankset. http://m.bikeradar.com/road/news/article/campagnolo-over-torque-crankset-unveiled-38192/
  6. The link to Origin. R500 seems fair for home training. There is a 3 day pro course also listed for those interested. They have a R200 /2hr coffee appreciation course which teaches you in's an out's of coffee and roasting. http://www.originroasting.co.za/
  7. I would guestimate with that components about 8kg.
  8. Is that the $1445 deraileur feom Lakeside cycles? http://lakeside-bikes.com/m/product/lightweight-rear-derailleur-the-light-way-of-shifting-8809.htm
  9. @Yahoo, I see you were gawking at that C2C as well.
  10. Seems the going rate is sub 20K. There are a few 2012 Infinito and Sempre in classifieds. Hotspot Cycles had some new stock they were selling off making place for new stock I suppose. Would be nice to have 11speed though.
  11. Funny enough I was looking at the specs for those hoops this morning. Sub 1300g for aluminium wheels and a clincher as well are impressive. The price at just over 20K locally is not bad in comparison to other more exotic Lightweight ( cough, cough) brands. Perfect for a mountain goat. Atleast they are cheaper than my entire bike.
  12. Change is inevitable. I was wondering when the manufacturers were going to pressure the UCI to change regulations. They are not going to put such alot of R&D for no reason. It seems as if SRAM is playing it safe by upgrading the rim calipers to hydraulic in case the disc brakes don't materialise under regulations.
  13. Any good places in Cape Town to do proper barista training? What is the ballpark figure in terms of cost?
  14. Just checked Sempre geo for a 57cm and it has a top tube of 54,5cm center to center. Head tube is 16cm so its between race and plush. You should be able to fit. Get a proper fit if you do buy it , as your stem length hbar beight and setback are crucial in getting comfortable. Your saddle height for reference should be about 73-74cm center BB to saddle top. Post pics in the Bianchi lover's thread once you buy. http://www.competitivecyclist.com/bianchi-sempre-pro-frame https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/43843-bianchi-lovers-show-me-yours/
  15. @Yahoo, best is to have a fit done and check if your dimensions fit the geometry. You could end up with a frame too big with a short stem, or a frame too small with alot of spacers under your stem. What are your current dimensions on your bike? What bike do you have and what is length of stem, saddle height currently. Are these settings from a professional fit?
  16. Can on dale can't make unfortunately. Buzzman will join us to rekindle his affair with the Celeste clan.
  17. I'm 1.85m and I'm on a 56cm RC. Frame has a top tube of 56.5cm so I had to go with a 90mm stem. You can accomodate top tube length with a different stem. The main thing , imo , is the head tube lentgh. Too race orientated and you will not enjoy it on long rides unless you put a few spacers in or have a stem that angles up. Fit is very important, but the Sempre has a nice plush geometry. I can't fit an Oltre with my current flexibility but the RC suits me perfectly.
  18. Looks like commuting bikes. Wish them a speedy recovery.
  19. I read some of the posts from V12, WW and cadence and I find myself and my Nespresso crawling into a corner. I like the Nespresso for convenience as I'm up early every morning with little time to spare. It's way more decent than instant Jacobs or Nescafe and I'm the only one drinking coffee so early at home. Maybe when I'm big one day I will buy a real machine.
  20. Dropped two pods of Darkhan into a cup last night with a little milk. Full rounded taste, not too bitter. Had a cuppa Kazaar this morning and I was pleasantly surprised. Strong as the 12 suggests but perfect for a kickstart, imo.
