I scrub cassette and cranks with a soft hand brush using Kleen Green and then rinse lightly with a hose on spray. I spray from top or non drive side of cassette. I then spin cassette and lay wheel cassettefacing down in case any water got in. Remove skewer and push an earbud through hub to dry water out. Drop some lube in hub where skewer goes in. Dry between cogs on cassette using rag pulled through side to side. Run chain liberally through dry rag.

Thanks for the advice. I had a standard on my previous bike with a 27 at the rear. I seldomly went pass the 25. I have a 11/23 with the compact but am changing to a standard with hopefully a 12/27 (11spd).

Hi-jack. If you change from compact to standard do you need to increase chain length or is it negligible? Btw, a 34/23 is similiar to a 39/27.

Congrats to Horner. Good, entertaining racing over the last few weeks. I was rooting for Nibs but alas. I know everyone is sceptical of Horner's win , but as I can remember he stayed with the bunch most of the way and took his time back bit by bit. His records are not really that better than others. Yes he is 41, suppose to be past his prime, but I really think the recent doping has overshadowed his victory. If he did dope he deserves to be banned for life, if he did'nt well done.
