  1. Never leave your Raleigh lion around...
  2. splat, your signature. Spelling error?
  3. I've been told on another thread that I'm evil so assume mine is a 666. I'm going downhill fast. But I suppose that doesn't help you...
  4. Turboman, you're dreaming! If we all spent our time watching other riders for what you call 'doping symptoms', we'll never focus on what we love doing most, racing bicycles. Besides, I've been known to leave the start line chute 2-3 times in 10 minutes to pee before a race and have had goosebumps on a hot day (happens when you bonk too). I'm still working on suddenly riding away from climbers on a climb. Lance Armstrong did that in the 1999 Tour de France and boy did that cop him some flack!
  5. Personal preferences. My ideal pre-race meal (night before the race) is steak and chips followed by ice-cream and chocolate sauce. Your diet and training as a whole is what will make a bigger impact on your race performances than your night-before meal. I also top up on fuel with quality carb drinks the day before and the morning of the race. You may find you were fatigued at the start of the race from lack of sleep/hard training sessions close to the race. You may even have a mineral deficiency (eg iron). Look at everything you do before judging your night-before meal. Oh, and that race organiser is a sadist! Hot dogs?
  6. Hope Van Eyck has good stock of Q-rings/ Rotor rings. Gonna have big demand for them today!
  7. Cavendish must be devastated. Bet he's wasted no time in ordering himself a set of Rotor rings/Q-rings!
  8. Must be difficult closing those Evox tubs. See she has to use all her bodyweight.
  9. TNT1, some more tidying up to do here!
  10. TNT1, some tidying up to do here!
  11. Never realised Yellow Submarine was written about the Tour de Atlanis...
  12. Oh dear! Those can't be very common, probably even a collector's item.
  13. A refreshing story angle. Well-written and, considering who the writer is, a nice message of hope for pro cycling fans.
  14. You guys in Cape Town have the most amazing cycling terrain (road and MTB). Always good to see you appreciating it!
  15. Originally posted by 1KTT think i might just put mine back on for summer! If they are that good, why did you take them off?
  16. Dawie O, coffee? While you were asleep, this similarity thing was already covered...
  17. Agree fastone. Cycling success requires a combination of athletic excellence AND tact. And it doesn't favour only one body type. As you have seen in this Tour, Markus Burghardt and Sammy Dimoulion (sorry assume spelling of names isn't spot on), the tallest and shortest riders in the race both won stages. Cycling offers proper allround human challenge. And that's just one discipline. MTB, track and BMX add even more variety...
  18. And no brand name. Must be a bugger for the marketing dept.... (Unless I missed the name somewhere, didn't have the energy to read the whole thread).
  19. Been there, but lost interest when I saw the bike only has one bottle cage. Pity as it looks like it had potential.
  20. Darts isn't a sport, it's a game. Anything that's mildly competitive that you can succeed at while being overweight and a smoker isn't a sport. If cricket didn't have fast bowlers, it would also be classified as a game, like golf.
  21. Nah, you should be okay, HR. Ignorance will always be a valid defence in dopey cases... Duenas's last resort is to blame the Spain Brain Drain (you know the saying, the Brain in Spain...) or just create an alter ego that bullied him into doping. For additional mitigating points, he can call his alter ego Placebo Domingo.
  22. Ooh, some things you shouldn't share! So Homo, just to remind you that during his career so far, Daryl has won three SA titles on Raleigh bikes. And last year he was the most prolific race winner in SA (14 wins) ? on Raleigh bikes. He hasn't exactly sparkled this year and, being a rookie on a Pro Continental team, assume his contract with the team formerly known as Barloworld is a two year contract, which gives him another year or so to secure a new contract. If he doesn't he may end up racing back on a South African team. I hope for his sake you maybe heard him wrong because there aren't a huge amount of pro team choices in SA. And the team on which he built his reputation as a top racer seems like it will be riding Raleighs for some time still... Daryl is one of my favourite pros because he's got very good manners, a sharp sense of humour and talent. Please tell us that you may have heard him wrong... Sean Badenhorst2008-07-25 01:41:52
  23. New meaning to the term 'cut and paste'...
  24. If he's injecting himself then he knows exactly what he's injecting! Besides, ignorance is not a valid defence in doping cases.
  25. Whackhead isn't funny. Period. That entire breakfast show crew is stale and needs replacement! I can't believe they actually have a summary of the weekday breakfast show on a Saturday morning. I think they're taking a well-deserved hiding now that Darren Scott is on the Jacaranda 94.2 breakfast show!
