  1. Its not southern suburbs unfortunately, but the Tygerberg mtb club has a nice program for the kids. They get together on Wednesdays I think.
  2. Have a look on the website http://www.sani2c.co.za/DisplayLink.aspx?group=Race Details&name=Accommodation We stayed at Kings Grants after day 1 and day 2 this year as my family came with. Really nice place, they do awesome food for the cyclists (3 course meal) and its got a nice atmosphere as its filled with Sani riders. Less than an hours drive to the start on both day 2 and 3.
  3. Its similar to restaurants charing a corkage fee if you bring your own wine in. My LBS (Cycles Direct) never gives me any hassle about buying parts etc online and then taking it to them to get fitted. Marks Bicycle workshop were also fine with it. I don't believe I paid more because I had boughts the parts elsewhere.
  4. Which is one of the reasons I choose it. I'm not quite a 155, but I was closer to a 155 than a 143 (the 2 sizes the specialized ladies saddles come in).
  5. Thanks for the offer. I am however impatient and based on the responses I had on here and other means, I bought them last night already. I needed pedals so with the two saddles and pedals, I got free shipping :-)
  6. At what point is the cut-off?
  7. www.buycycle.co.za is another local seller. They have them on special for R1336. Still way more than CRC. Consensus seems to be the Diva. Worst case, if I hate it then I can just sell it on the hub as "almost new", lol. Gives me an excuse to get the pedals I need, CRC have a special :-) Thanks everyone!
  8. I've been through the range of Specialized and have finally conceded that they just don't work for me. The latest Jett is rather nice and matches my bike but is the wrong size and I'm not sure the bigger size would solve the problem. I think after many years of trying, its time to give another brand a go. Cycles Direct did offer to order me any saddle I want, I was just hoping to see one before ordering.
  9. I'm moving away from the Specialized saddles. Nothing wrong with the saddles, they just aren't the right shape for me (too high on the edges).
  10. Thanks Slick. Any idea where one can get them in Cape Town?
  11. I've recently bought a new bike which means once again, I need a new saddle. The bikes always come with a 143cm and I need a 155cm. I also need to change the saddle on my road bike as its also a 143. I can survive something like the Argus with my current saddle, but would not like to attempt the Double Century on a saddle that is not the right size. Now comes the question of which saddle and I'm hoping for some advice on this. I'm not a weight weenie so don't want the lighest racing saddle. I also don't want a big squishy saddle. Something in between racing and casual. I don't want to buy online so preferably someone I can go look at in Cape Town. I don't put a price on comfort so any suggestions welcome. Please let me know what you girls (or guys whose better halves also rides) think, especially the ones like me with the wider hips / butt (that doesn't mean fat BTW). I need both a mtb and road saddle.
  12. Its a one way trail.... don't attempt to ride up Never Ending, you will annoy too many people..... I did it a few weeks back. It was hilarious, didn't make the first left hand corner as I was on a new bike and there was a loose rock. Fell to the left (no a good idea on Never Ending) but luckily there were branches etc that I landed in so I didn't roll down the mountain. They are doing some really nice work. I saw a video this morning of the new trail above Canary, looks awesome.

    Injury Advice

My OH hurt his knees really badly on the motorcycle. Went to the emergency room and they did x-rays etc only to tell him it was just bruising. Took months to come right though.
  14. My entry is done :-)

I'd try a very easy scycle down the road. If your knees hurt then stop, if not carry on.
  16. No, this is what my 29er HT (that I've only just bought) is perfect for.
  17. I have a dilema at the moment. I need to train for berg & bush (mtb) and double century (road). My normally mtb trails are mostly singletrack. Each weekend I need to decide which bike I should ride. This race will be perfect as its a cross between road riding and mtbing. I get to ride my mtb which I love and I get some good distance training in......

    SANI2C 2013

I was so scared I'd forget to pay that I paid mine on the 16th already. Bring it on.....
  20. Just went on and die burger photos are there. They got a really cool one of me going through the river. They don't normally order them by date.
  21. Lol, I wish. I have to make up time on the downhills as I'm too slow going up.
  22. Does she eat before a ride? It sounds more like a blood sugar issue or something elsqe rather than low blood pressure. If someone has low blood pressure, they will feel it when waking up in the morning as your blood pressure drops when you sleep. Normally when exercising your blood pressure rises rather than drops. When my blood pressure is low, I normally struggle for the first 10 minutes and then start to feel better.
  23. I got mine from Cycles direct if anyone in Cape Town is looking for them. The Propero is also compatible with my helmet.
  24. One of the chicks screamed at me to be careful when I went past on the steepish descent before the Hells queue. I was equally polite and told her that it would be easier if she let her brakes go a little. Didn't look back to see if she appreciated the advice, lol
  25. My Garmin read 1480 for the 60km.
